Gravel already having success in the JJR car. He’s always elevated the car he’s in, i think he’s the best of the 3 drivers that changed rides this year (Shane, Macedo, Gravel)

I agree with you 100%! I like all three drivers, but DG/JJR seems to be a good fit for both!! Hope they have a ton of wins this year and beyond.

I thought it would take longer for them to gel.............it has not. We'll see how the next 10 races go. If he wins a couple more, look out!

I've actually been impressed with Macedo as well. As of now it looks like Macedo is a few points ahead of Gravel and has more total top 10s. Both have been good for their teams but with this being Carson's first outlaws season, I was not sure how well he fair. Yes they have been racing in California where he's from, but the past few years he has been racing around Ohio & All Star type schedule tracks. I think a little bit more experience he gets as the season goes on he could make some noise & impress

Like you said I think that’s a lot to do with Macedo running where hes comfortable. I’d expect Gravel to have a better year overall unless JJR runs low on equipment.

I met his parents last week when I went to DMV in Watertown Ct., saw "Gravel's Auto Body" & gave it a shot... nice folks!
Glad to see the new team winning already!

Seems odd you wouldn't mention Pittman amongst the guys that changed rides, and he's having an even better year to boot.

Pittman does get lost, by far having the best of the new car/driver combos this year.

What’s pretty impressive is Gravel having 41 Outlaw wins by the age of 26
if you look at the list of all time Outlaw wins, take out all of Steve’s and Donny wins it’s
hard to get those wins ..

The cars are very even and its nice to see the winners not driving away from the front row.The shorter tracks have provided more passing and several different[9] winners so far and traffic comes into play more than on the bigger tracks.Clean air can be a big deal but the lapped cars are a factor..The drivers that changed cars are all very good and are all top ten drivers.Should be one of the best years. but season is just relly getting started with weather always a factor early.

Gravel has definately come on strong especially latlely. The key will be if he continues to get the team support necessary to maintain his pace. And continue to improve on his top five finishes. No doubt he wheels hell out of a sprint car!

Just to be clear------that Bill Rose #6 was the #83 (I believe---is that the right number?) with the #6 wing on it.

89G for a majority of the year after the Eldora weekend in May. I think Gravel actually drove the actual 6 Bill Rose car during the West Coast swing through Eldora's May date. I remember being at the race when the announcement was made that Gravel would be in a second Bill Rose Car, which would actually be the 89G, and race the rest of the year for points since he had done so well while in the Rose car. At the time he was 6th in driver points and had quite a string of finishes. I believe he ended up winning some races including a Knoxville Prelim night. Old article of the deal is below

Thank you Egras for the article reference. You just don’t realize that it’s been that long since all that occurred
wishing him continued success, he sure seems to get wins in whatever rude he’s in

I agree with you except for Maceado, new on the Woo-zer tour, give him a few seasons. top five I predict!!!
Ascot was the greatest of all time..
West Capital wasn't half bad either..
Life is good...

I thought Gravel might struggle leaving the potent well funded CJB team but he's proved me wrong. His success has more to do with his talent than the ride. Of course it takes both. Macedo has surprised me as well. To run up front with the WOO these days you have to be very good and super aggressive. These guys are both.

Yes sir, you are correct on the 89G. I couldn't remember the #.
Also correct that Gravel can get the most of out of all equipment. Did he win the Knoxville prelim with the #6 or Destiny car? (or both?)

Correct, in 2015 I believe Dollansky was let go or mutually decided to split with the Destiny ride & on the same day Gravel was let go by Roth. Both for a short period of time basically flip flopped rides with Gravel going to Destiny & Dollansky went to Roth. Unfortunatetly for Dollansky it did not work out again for him and he was out of the Roth ride a couple weeks laterI think Gravel may have had a podium or two in the Destiny car which was basically like a win. He finished 3rd on his Prelim night at the nationals, made the A and finished 13th after starting 3rd.

Thanks for the refresher. I seem to remember him having a brief stint in the car with a relatively successful trip to the Nationals-------for the Destiny car. He seems to be the only driver who made that car fast----at least up until I saw Paul in it at Wilmot last year. I hope to see that team turn the corner.
