I was excited when I first heard about the VIP subscription thinking they would include some ASCoC races. Doesn't seem to be the case. Actually not a single ASCoC show from what I see is included in the subscription. Looks like its catering to weekly Lincoln and Port fans... so good for them I guess. My money still going to DirtVision.

They we're a good fit for February as I wanted to watch the All Stars.  This past weekend was IMCA Stock Cars and Sportmods (I'm guessing Sportmods must be what we refer to as B Mods).  I'm only interested in Sprints and Open Late Models so aside from checking the IMCA cars out for a few minutes I haven't watched since the All Stars.  They have good service and the broadcast quality is good but my main deal is content and name recognition of drivers and familiar cars.  There are a few more Sprint races left on there this month before I cancel but I will likely use them again when the content warrants it.

I will probably go with Dirtvision for March as I'd like to watch the Outlaws west coast swing.  I mentioned on another thread that I'm still waiting on their Knoxville pricing.  It's hard to commit to a month of Saturday night PPV during our short summers as I plan on getting to the tracks more this season.  In the past the former Knoxville PPV had a price point of around $20 for a weekly show and I would get that at the last minute when everything rained out up here.  I'm hoping that Dirtvision will have similar pricing as I have a hard time selling one race that costs $5 more than a whole month of Netflix to my wife who pays the bills.  If the pricing for weekly shows is raised to $25 or $30 for one race I'll never sell her on why I should spend more than my fair share of our entertainment budget.  PPV races are lick a bag of chips, it's hard to do just one or as comedian Ron White said in regard to another subject "once you've seen one...you want to see all of them".  I can sell her on a month because there's a bunch of races but the cost of single PPV races can add up quickly.  I understand that the economics of dirt racing are different than the services she's comparing them to but I'll never convince her to have sympathy for racing PPV services or dirt tracks.

Basically the bottom line is that I think all of the racing PPV services offer bits and pieces of what I'd like to see as content but there is a Hodge podge of services all competing for a piece of the pie.  In a perfect world I would like to see a few of them form a network or some kind of cooperative agreement.  Since most have settled on this $40 per month price point it would be nice if we had a selection and some variety.  For example if Dirtvision offered a "pick one" fast pass where we could watch one race per night and it would work out to the same number of races per month for the $40.  That way if the Outlaws are in an erea where they only draw 20 cars I could opt for Knoxville or the Late Models instead without having to purchase to subscriptions.  Even though I'm mostly a Sprint fan I know WoO LM driver Brent Larson for example and it would be nice to catch a few of his races.  If Dirtvision offered something where I had the same number of races per month for my $40 but had the option to pick which track or series I wanted to watch on a particular night I'd be all over that.  Getting PPV for WoO Sprints, Late Models and Knoxville weekly separately would cost $120 per month assuming Knoxville weekly follows the $40 per month precedent and there's no way I can do that.

Patience. There are a lot of pieces to put in place when you’re trying to be fair to everyone involved. We have some major announcements coming up shortly.

And, when talking Sprint Cars, don’t forget Jackson is on that list too.

Thanks for the update, looking forward to the announcements...

Outlaws have DirtVision, USAC has Flo racing, yet there is no package deal for ASCoC races. While the season is still a ways out, hopefully these accouncements are related to some sort of ASCoC package. I used to love watching ASCoC on speedshift... But with DirtVision offering 8-12 races a month for $39 I cant bring myself to pay $22-25 for any snigle event.

Chet C., you are missed on telecasts from out here in western Oklahoma. You do a great job.

Lots of subscription options yet, then again, lots of tracks to choose from when you are able to make it out to a race track.

Bottom line, support those who bring us the action, no matter what series it is. I feel it is great thing for our sport.

I've got a friend that I used to do some podcasting for who runs IMCA.TV and does a great job but it doesn't include my content preferences so I have never used his service.  My only goal for February and March is to watch a few Sprint Car races before our weather flips.  Once April comes my only forays into PPV will be for an occasional Knoxville weekly show and maybe the final night of the Nationals.  My neighbor will be starting his rookie year in a Sprint Car so maybe I'll try getting my hands dirty.  These days I'm only dragging the camera out for special ocassions and I'm pretty much done with the note pad.  PPV will fill the void but the real fun starts in April.  wink
