Please keep your thoughts and prayers to StrangeWings and his family. He lost his life this past Friday.

I am sorry to hear this. Never met the guy of course and I remember how much crap he used to get from some people on this board. It was nice to see some comments that came from people who knew him on a first hand basis in the recent past. Based in those comments he seemed like someone I would enjoy drinking a beer with and talking racing which describes most people you would encounter at a race track. Thoughts are with his family and close friends at this tough time.

I never met him and we probably locked horns over some trivial racing subject but RIP and sorry to hear this.  A reminder that we're all people with jobs, loved ones and the challenges of life.  We can agree to disagree but think twice before name calling and making racing more important that the entertainment it is.

I, for one, had many run in's with Strange.  Met him once at Angell Park, but did not know it until after.  We had something in common after that and did not snipe at each other on here anymore.  I send good thoughts to his family and may Strange Rest In Peace

I am in a line of work that unfortunately deals with a number of funerals and requires me to read a lot of obituaries.  Reading this one was saddening because of the circumstances that seemingly surrounded his death.  Life throws a lot of garbage at us, and there are definitely times it can feel overwhelmingly awful, but remember there are always people that you are important to and who love you, and there is always something worth living for, even in our darkest moments.

Also, never ignore the struggles that your friends and family are going through, your kind words or encouragment may be just what they need to get through the day.  Godspeed Strange.

I have chronic fatigue and it sucks. It really sucks to read this.

Sad to hear. Many of us will never meet each other face to face at the track and many of us have gotten into some disagreements over some silly issues. However we all have 1 common passion that brings us all together and its sad when one leaves the world. Wish the best to his family

RIP. Always sucks to read about one of our own leaving this physical world. My heart goes out to his son especially. What a deal to get handed to you, horrible really. I'll be tipping one back in StrangeWings honor this evening.

Cheers!

I agree. I can be a real asshole at times but I would hope most realize its all in jest. Life is so damn good I hate it when someone loses sight of that fact. Say hello to a stranger, call an old friend out of the blue, buy a random person at the next race a beer...whatever just share some true kindness.

Cheers!

It would be cool if we all could meet face to face. I'll bet we'd be very surprised how well we get along despite how much we bust each others balls at times on this board. I'm as guilty as anyone. Sorry to hear about Jeff. Very sad story. I hope his soul is finally at peace.

I quit drinking just under 5 months ago but I'm not such an alcoholic that I can't have one in his honor. Will do.

Sat with StrangeWings (aka Dick Danger) several times. We often shared the same glass half empty view. Watching him play catch with his son before races was always a reminder about lifes priorities. You will be missed Mr. Danger by the racing community.
