Just my opinion about Dirtvision...........................

I would be much more interested in spending a couple of hundred dollars or agree to pay a monthly fee for the entire season for unlimited access to races.  AND, Dirtvision would get a lot more of my money this way and I would watch a lot more of the races.  (The key to it Dirtvision: "Dirtvision would get a lot more of my money"wink

With some of the technical issues already experienced, and with some of the issues I have experienced in the past, a bad race or two might make me lose interest in purchasing races at the spur of the moment.  However, I have watched some flawless Dirtvision broadcasts before and I would tune in constantly if I had a yearly subscription, and would take the good with the bad.

Dirtvision, you should reconsider this.  I will likely buy no more than 3 or 4 races this year.  My kids are in baseball and softball all spring and summer.  I won't buy races if I'm not in front of them at the start.  You give a yearly subscription (for a reasonable cost) I will buy it so I can watch anytime----even if I come home right before the A-main.  I can tune in, open a beer and watch 20 minutes of racing and feel like I got my money's worth.

Hard to put a price on what would be reasonable market value for having video access to every live WoO show... I'd be intereted in full replays of heats and c,b,a-mains and post race interviews the day after like dirt on dirt offers for a subscription price..

All good points and a well thought out post.

Here is where I am at with dirtvision.  Until they can get a broadcast that has a quality picture AND can show me that they can provide a broadcast with minimal technical issues, I won't be a full time subscriber.  They are by far the worst of any of the many different broadcast companies I have viewed when it comes to the technical side.  They have been for years and I have not seen any signs of dirtvision changing the way they do things in the near future.  What I don't understand is why so many other broadcast companies can provide a crystal clear picture with no streaming issues, yet dirtvision cannot?

I won't even consider it until they expand to include streaming devices.  If theyre going to step up their game that is the next logical step.  I have Lucas Oil TV and have been watching Late Models all week on my Roku TV.

In defense of DirtVision, as frustrating as it sometimes is, I can understand them having issues from time to time. They do cover a large selection of tracks, and must adapt to the internet service available for each broadcast. There have been times, when I've enjoyed a perfect broadcast, while others are complaining that they are not....and vice versa....those situations I don't fully understand. It's either an individual's provider or the equipment, I suppose. In either case, DirtVision has been very understanding in helping to solve the problem, or issuing me a refund.

I too, would like to have the opportunity to pay a one time subscription fee for an entire season of the live broadcasts, but I doubt that will happen.

Good to know I'm not nuts.........thought I would get blasted for this   Smile

Dirtvision may get $50-$100 of my money this year the way it stands.  Make an offer for the entire season, and I would likely bite-----for a reasonable cost.

Just saying

It's a great option for those that want it.. but for me I'm just not a broadcast/television type of person. I doubt I watch 30 minutes of tv a month. For the money I'd spend on a subscription I'd much prefer to throw my tent on my motorcycle & go see it. I'm in Cincinnati and anything within 600 miles is quite doable

It was announced a week ago that every WoO race will be broadcast live with a subscription package available soon (after Valousia no doubt).

To all the PPV providers....can your cameras focus on a broader angle that will enable to see more cars racing instead of a close-up on just one or two?? Just a suggestion...

Cool - hadn't heard about the subscription option.

Lucas Oil with ASCS and All-Star live races is $99

Granted the WoO is the premier series, don't expect it to be that price

I fear it will be prohibitively expensive.

One thing I disagree with is defending Dirtvision for connection issues - if you want to offer a for-pay service, then you better have done your due diligence and know you can provide it. There are some very remote tracks the Outlaws visit - "lack of internet" at a track is not an excuse they can use this year. If you make a commitment to provide the service and are making money doing so, you have a responsibility to follow through.

I rented Friday nights edition from Volusia, picture was OK but nothing specdtacular, but guess what happened as Sheldon took the lead down the backstretch....????   You guessed it, my first buffering circle of the night and i had to refresh the damn thing as he rolled off the scales, I'll stick to highlights the next day and save $25

My only problem with them are the buffering and constantly dropping the stream.

The cushion and speedshift tv are both much better feeds. Also I maybe wrong. But Dirtvision is maybe the only one not in HD. So the sound and the pic are less quality.

I watched 5 straight nights of Volusia coverage on Dirtvision with zero buffering. I agree the picture quality is not as good as other services but still ok. I just wish the camera guys would be listening to Johnnys call cause so many times Johnny is calling a great battle but camera is focused on someone else. $79 for 5 nights of racing and never leaving my couch was a great value.

Good points.  I'd hate to invite people over, get the house ready for company, buy the food and drink, fire up the grille, turn on the race and watch it buffer and cut in and out.  What the hell do I do then, ask everyone what they want to watch on Netflix?  I could put up with that at LORTV prices but not when the cost of a two day show exceeds an entire year of LORTV.

Racinboys had a great interview with Brian Carter this week and shed more details on the DirtVision PPV's.

They soon will be rolling out options for both Monthly and Yearly subscriptions in the next few weeks. I assume this would be announced before the Texas events but not certain.

They also now are having a satellite truck that is going to each race track that will send the signal back to Charlotte so they can add in production quality videos during breaks as well as he hinted as some live interviews or commentary as well.

YES! You rarely get to see anybody coming up from the back, nor get a chance to watch your favorite drivers unless they're competing for the lead

Same thing happened to me on Friday, and pretty much the same for me on Saturday! Entirely too much buffering and lost feed!
