Can anyone tell me if this is correct?   Kyle Busch was extremely upset that NASCAR didn't throw the yellow for debris when he blew the tire.  Am I correct to assume that if they would have thrown the yellow, he would not have  won anyways since he caused the yellow?  I think he wasn't thinking when he got pissed.  Anyone know the rule there?

I don't think there is a rule (seriously how often does a leader cause a caution and remain the leader, let alone on the final lap)?  That's one that will probably get added to the rule book at some point. IE you cause the caution on the final lap and if you don't lose any positions from your involvement you will finish last of the competitors on that lap, or something to that effect.

He should have blocked better. To drive as long as he did on three tires was a miracle In itself. They saw no harm, so boys have at it.

If the caution flag comes out and you are the reason,  you go to the rear,  IE last car of whatver lap you are on.    No reason for it to be any different if the caution ends the race.

Per NASCAR rules, the field is FROZEN at the time of yellow and since the white flag had already flown, it would have been the end of the race.  Busch would have been the winner.  That's why he was mad, he didn't win.

I know that is what the rules states.  I just wonder if there in an * next to the rule that has anything to do with being the cause of the yellow.  ?????

Nascar doesn't charge debris cautions to cars. All kyle would bave had to do if a yellow would have come out while he was leading was to maintain pace lap speed.

to indy and beyond!!

Got it.  I guess Kyle had a reason to be pissed.  There should have been a debris caution the second he shredded the fender.  At first, I thought NASCAR was doing him a favor by keeping it green--turns out they dislike him as much as I do.  (although that little dude can wheel a racecar--he almost won that race on a three-legged horse for God's sake!)

I am pretty sure there is a * that says that if you are the cause of the caution then you go to the rear.   Granted NASCAR is not able to identify the source of debris every time,  if they through a caution for him or his debris then he should have gone to the rear.

There is no way to justify being able to bring out a caution (on purpose or accidental) that hands you the win.   It just isn't right.    Heck, the leader would be throwing out water bottles as soon as they hit that white line on the backstretch every race if that were the case.

Maybe I am wrong,  Mike Joy's twitter posts says that debris caution is never credited to a car.   I could have sworn that I remember a driver getting caught intentionally throwing out debris and getting punished.

Heck,  they could have just as well thrown the caution for KB himself,  they have been quick with the caution when a guy gets out of shape in the past.

Nascar has thrown a caution for a hot dog wrapper 30 ft off of the track that has been there for 50 laps. Go figure.

Dick Trickle would have gotten a debris caution 10 times per race for cigarette butts and Busch Light cans!

Thanks for all the silly details.  When I'm sweeping the attic floor this weekend, I'll know I'm doing something far more constructive and reasonable than watching anything remotely associated with the Toyota sponsored circus.   Its a shame the cars aren't built in Asia.

Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

Grandpa?  Is that you?  Oh I'm sorry--I thought it was him- must be someone else who doesn't realize the war with Japan ended in the 40's.

Oh wait--let me guess--you are one of those economic wizards that thinks Chinese products and Japanese products are the same too, am I correct?

For fear of internet trolls going nuts and venting, I will jump in here.  The way I understand it, this year if the last lap is in progress and the leader passes the white mark on the wall along the back straight, the field is frozen and the next flag finishes the race whether it be yellow, red or checker.  If Kyle had passed that mark if and when a yellow was thrown, he would have been declared the winner.  Seeing as they chose not to throw a flag or if he had not passed that mark then it is a race for the win.  If he had not passed that mark and they threw the yellow then he would run in, get a tire, and go back out for the green, white, checker finish.

My wife told me if I went to one more Sprint Car race
she would leave me.................I'm sure gonna miss
that ol' gal.

If only Truex would have thrown out some roll bar padding at the right time of the Daytona 500,  he could have won it!
