I found it interesting that the WoO didn't post the orignal start that Sammy supposedly jumped. Ive never understood how the pole sitter can jump since he is setting the pace. For anyone that was actually there, did Sammy actually jump? I would love to see video of it.
Yeah it sucks he did that but i dont think he had but a top 5 car anyway the way Ott,Schatz, and smith were running a little better then him.I would like to see video of how bad the jump was though. Hoefully Sammy can help paul and his team run better in the future. There was some talk Sammy might drive that car 40 races next year and I hope he does but I think he will have to get at least one win before CJB motorsports actually does 40 races with him
I thought at the time that he jumped, but it wasn't by any 75 feet! I knew immediately when the yellow came out what it was for. I have seen worse jumps that haven't been called, but it is a call that doesn't benefit from repaly or second guessing. It's a "now" call, or not a call.

Super Chuck is more curious to see what happens at year's end if the old fella keeps out running the team car.
Super Chuck
Sammy's said repeatedly he doesn't want to drive full time. I think he's runs better racing less and not getting road weary. Forty races next year would be a good fit if it comes to pass. A poster said Sammy may need to get a win to stay in the seat but if that's true there may be a lot of empty seats at year's end with Schotz gobbling up wins like he has.
Stripes and cones.....Who remembers the days that the polesitter set the pace on the starts and when restarts began going into 3 and was determined by the driver who erned the right to set the start? Now.......Who misses that?

Ott played the role Sammy was going to play had he not got called back. Sammy would have led for a bit, Stevie would have driven by him and Schatz would have gotten him late. Not sure Ott was all that good, just a tough track to pass on.

Don't know about that... he set fast qualifying time for all 39 cars
Then again, it could be playing tricks on me. Following last year's momentum and National Open win I thought David Gravel was going to finish in the top 3 in points with Roth this year. Ummmm.... not so much.
Gravel's lucky he is in the top ten, with a top notch crew chief and decent equipment as Dollansky, Haud all took this ride with knowledge of the equipment

My gut instinct tells me that the CJB #1 is going to pick up a victory at I-55.
Sammy is entered in the 360 Nationals driving Donnie Cooper's 01 that weekend. He's also driving the Donnie Cooper 01 at Randolph County Raceway in Moberly, MO this weekend.

Scott Benic a top notch crew chief? No way! He is the reason Jac & Dollansky left the car. He is clueless with winged cars. He made a nice living with non-winged cars, but is out to lunch with the wing. Lee Stouffer is not with the car anymore, leaving after the King's Royal.
The #7 is junk and will always be junk. You cannot tell me that David Gravel all of a sudden "forgot" how to drive a sprint car.

What do you guys think?
What really concerns me is not the start but the guy on the backstretch waiving the yellow flag at the outside fence opening. This is a trajedy waiting to happen. With all drivers having raceivers this day and age there is ABSOLUTLY NO REASON AT ALL for this guy to be standing there. I know it is a change of subject but that was what stood out to me the most. Hopefully someone from the Grove will see this and put a stop to it before something bad happens.

The WoO didn't show the supposed jump on the restart in Cedar Lake when they penalized Schatz and handing the win to Saldana. From the people I have spoken to that were there, Donny did not jump but simply beat Saldana to turn 1 and that is when the WoO guys called it back and penalized the 15. Like I said, we never saw any video of that one either.
