Awesome addition of the video screen on the front stretch! Great camera work and unique shots shown on the video board throughout the night. You continue to invest in improvements for the benefits of the racers, fans, and experience at the races.

Thank you!

I thought the same thing. Now it's time to work on finishing their program at a reasonable hour

You have to remember with the trucks there were over 100 cars at track.  The 410 wreck took some time.  Intermission took some time, and the once a year trucks took some time.  First race of year why be in a hurry to leave.  I will say next week it will be over before 11PM or before.

It shouldnt be a big ask to be done by 11. My kids were asleep by the 305 A main

What time did the races get over?

Right around 12:30 a.m.

Probably could have been ran a bit quicker throughout the night but it was a good show regardless. They just started late and got far behind a normal schedule - first 305 heat pushed off after 9 p.m. and the first 410 heat didn't push off until around 9:40.

Walked in the door at home at 3:05 a.m. Late night? Yep! Worth it? Yep! I just feel for all the people who I saw leave very early, especially those who had brought along kids for the free entry night.

I love Knoxville,  but they have always had a problem getting done at a decent hour.   Hard to "Win Friends and Influence Racin" with a 6+ hour show.    I thought they were on to something a few years ago with group time trials, but apparently that has been forgotten about.

Absolutely no need for 305 time trials (or the whole division really, let the rookies play "off-Broadway" first and hone their skills) and probably could do without 360 time trials.  Maybe the dirt trucks should have been scheduled into another (non-NSL) night when less cars are expected to run around during intermission.

Races at sprint car tracks getting over with waaaaaay too late has been putting future fans to sleep before they get to see the real racing for decades already.

Its hard to make new sprint car fans when all they get to see while they're awake is the back gate classes.

Its hard to criticize Knoxville very often but I've got to ask "Why were the dirt trucks there on a night that you are hosting a NSL race?"    They had to have been expecting a large field so why add another class that takes up time?

Same reason I ask Huset's "Why have so make classes of cars on a NSL night that is likely to have 30+ 410's in the field?"

It makes it really hard to take kids along to the races when you KNOW that it won't get done prior to 11pm.

If you want kids to come you need to have shows done by 10 pm fairly regularly.    Without kids, there are no "new fans".

If your kids are falling asleep by 10 thats really not anybody else's problem.  Maybe they are a little too young.  Knoxville shouldn't just shut down for the night because the tikes are falling asleep.  Im sure they are making an effort to get the show in.  You guys had like over 70 410s and 360 last night quit whining.  I didn't get home from Eldora till 3 am but oh well.  I sure am glad they didn't just give up on the night because it was getting past some peoples bedtime.

Yeah, so dumb of me to take my kids to kids night and want to be home at a reasonable hour

Eldora got over before midnight despite starting at least an hour late and having 2 elite divisions to run full shows.

one late night is not something to cause massive overreaction, but the posts on here so far have been rationale and constructive. A few easy fixes for next time, no dirt trucks on nights you think you're going to more 410S than usual, if it looks like it's goinng to get late, run 410s first.

How many support divisions did Eldora have?

Personally,  I think 3 support divisions on a special plus kids night is poor planning.

Kids night was originally planned for opening night. Remember it was rained out for 3 weeks and just happened to fall on the night with trucks. If they would have cancelled kids night people woulda been pissed. Guess they just can't make everyone happy.

OK,  mother nature threw a monkey wrench into the party.   I will give them kids night even though it probably should have been postponed one more time until next week,  but I understand this part of the problem.

Still no excuse for 305's and trucks on a night when you expect extra drivers and should be motivated to have a quick show.

And why did they give up on group time trials?    I thought it worked well.

How would you people like to own a business where almot everyone is bitching about something.  They bitch about the announcer, bitch about beer price and food price, bitch about track prep, bitch about time trials, bitch about race format, bitch about feature invert, when races start, when races end.  They even compain bout what color some one painted thier car this year.  If you are around kids you will know they go to sleep in grocery carts, during dinner,at weddings and on and on.  It is not the end of the world.

I never said it was the end of the world. I just think if you want people to return with their kids, you have to finish earlier! Its pretty simple. I dont think i am being unfair in the expectation for the races to be finished by 11pm. I know there is a problem when there is people leaving with their kids before the feature races started!

they didn't give up on group qualifing,,305's time in hot laps, 360's five at a time, 410's three at a time.

You are correct and I would guess some of these anti posts were by people that were not at the races at all.  Would some of you admit you were not at races?
