What do people consider to be the best things to put into the making of the "best" ASCS motor? For all tracks, I know that bigger tracks, and smaller tracks need different things, but lets say we are running the National Tour, and don't have time to change out motors and need 1. Big bore? Big Stroke? Engler? Hilborn? Where is the best place to spend the $$? People know how to get power to a 410, but what about the 360's?

If you are only going to have one 360 then it is hard to beat the std 350 combination. 3.500 stroke 4.020 bore. 6 inch or 5.7 rod. Some guys like 6 inch and some like 5.7 inch. The 5.7 inch rods seem to be a little bit snappier and seem to run better down low which helps on starts. Use a Crower Semi-Ultra lite crank with Dyer's or Carillo rods. Either JE , CP or Mahle pistons. Camshaft is the most important item you will purchase. Every driver car combination can require a different cam. Sometimes what works for one guy doesn't work for the next. Start off with a cam that is proven. Talk with Huggins, Custom Cams or Competition Cams they all have similar grinds for a ASCS egnine. I would use the Hilborn injectors with the long injector. but some people also like the Engler injector on 360's.

I know this is a old thread but we borrowed an ASCS 360 the other night it was 2 races old and from a reputable builder .I was suprised how narrow the power band was are they all like this ?Out here in Cali we have an "open head "360 rule and our open head motors have quite a bit broader power band .Just wondering if this is the direction these notors have gone
a punch in the face always means something
