I tried listening in on Dirtvision with my wife's Kindle Fire HD 7" tablet. It's a pretty awesome little device, I got the mini hdmi cable for it specifically with the intent of eventually subscribing to Dirtvision so I can watch the Outlaws on one of our big screen TV's. I can log in but when I try to listen it just sits there with no sound. To add insult to injury I logged into this message board on the Kindle and painstakingly typed out this message one letter at a time with the idea of posting the question and this board wouldn't allow me to post from the Kindle.

After my failed attempts on the Kindle I went into my office and logged into Dirtvision. Benny and the Jets isn't one of my favorite songs but now I'm hearing a Brad Doty interview so the race is still on. Evidently Dirtvision and this message board do not work with the Kindle tablet unless I have to get an Ap somewhere. I can watch YouTube and other video on the Kindle and have listened to other broadcasts on the Kindle browser. If I'm right on this then it's kind of disappointing that these Sprint Car sites are still geared towards the computer and aren't keeping up with the tablets that just about everybody has these days.

But it doesn't end there. After failing to post on this board from the Kindle I typed the previous paragraphs in Firefox, hit post and nothing. I hate MSIE and haven't used it for years preferring Firefox and Chrome but I had to paste the entire message into MSIE and post using that method. Not trying to be a critic here but I don't think I'm the only one who prefers laying on the couch with the Kindle over the computer and office chair. Anyone else share my frustrations?

Going four wide, see ya'. wink

I understand your frustration. I tried to listen to tonight's race via my Android phone, which is a Samsung Galaxy S3. It would let me log in to Dirtvision but the little black button with the white play arrow in it wouldn't do a darn thing! So I tried to use the daughter's iPod but continuously received the message that I was logged in on another device -- even after I logged out of DirtVision on the S3! To add salt to the wound, I finally got home and turned on the laptop ... only to get the same message I got on the iPod -- logged in on another device so wait 15-20 minutes. Well by then, the race was over! I don't understand what difference it makes whether your logged in on 1 device or 3, especially with a free service? I fired off an email to DirtVision expressing my disgust with the entire situation. Nothing ticks me off faster than technology that doesn't work right.

I've emailed [email protected] for this same exact reason. I read something on the dirtvision site or somewhere about problems and the way to get a remedy was to email them at that address and they are usually quick to respond, especially when a race is going on. So I did. That was on the 28th of June. I still haven't heard from them yet. I was able to, at the beginning of the year, log in and listen from my Nexus 7. Sometime in there, something changed and I am no longer able to listen from either the tablet or the phone. Both are running Jelly Bean 4.1./4.2. Nothing else has changed except the non-ability to listen to the races. I can log in, but like you said jsfan, the play button does nothing when I click on it.

Thanks for the feedback. That was my experience on the Kindle. Logged in alright but when I hit the play button nothing happens. I have watched video from a variety of sources on the Kindle and my wife listens to streaming audio and podcasts on it with no problem. Tablets and phones are a big part of the way that people connect to the internet nowadays. Hopefully they'll address these compatibility issues as I think they'd have to be losing potential business without that capability.

P.S. 99.9% of the internet has no issues and is easy to use. Whenever sites do not work and suggest I contact them and do a bunch of trouble shooting I scratch them from my list. Back in the mid 90's before the web caught on with the masses and we'd connect with phone modems it was a lot more geeky. I paid my dues trouble shooting many things that today we take for granted. Now almost 20 years later if something doesn't work I simply move on to other options. Built and maintained my own boxes for years, paid my dues and now I just want the darned things to work with no hassle. It's 2013, compatibility and connection problems should be a thing of the past. Just my opinion as a long, long time computer user.

Same here, I just move on when stuff doesn't load/work, etc. I'm so glad to hear its not just my phone tho! There's been more than a few times I could have thrown this thing over the moon and last night was one of them. Wish I'd got an iPhone now ... they seem to work flawlessly ... but locked into stupid 2 yr contract.....

I'm hoping a solution arises with the audio never working with smart phones. I also have an S3, and the audio has never worked. Wondering if dirtvision can get something going with tune in radio, perhaps. It's hard for users to know how to fix it when there's no info about what kind of format the stream is.

I should point out that it worked fine on the computer. I listened to the entire Feature with absolutely no issues. My only beef is that my office chair isn't as comfortable as the couch so I had to give up on the Kindle and listen in the office. If I can't tune in on the Kindle where I can plug the hdmi cable into the TV I'll think twice about subscribing until I hear that they have expanded to include portable devices. wink

The Android doesnt support flash..So what you have to do is go download the app Photon Flash and Browser. Type in Dirtvision in browser and turn on flash and boom you get Johnny Gibson and the dirvision audio. I had to do this so I could listen on my tablet..Photon is a free app

Thanks, it's not so much operator error as this operator being too lazy to dig. I'll save your reply and look at it next week when I have more time. Live racing trumps an internet broadcast. wink

Kind of curious as to why dirtvision hasn't ever explained to us this simple issue/fix. Have they already? Did I miss it? Seems to me a good percentage of their customers would try to tune in on their DROID devices..
