Only 4 trucks running the track in? Knoxville had rain all week and the night before, but racing went on as scheduled. New ownership at Williams Grove can't come soon enough. That track has been terrible lately.

Definitely not an all-out effort to run that track in...very disappointing.

You could've had 42 street stocks on the track and never saved it...Just sayin...

Last night was the absolute worst track preparation attempt I've ever seen at any race track. I have been going to dirt track races for 40 years and never seen what I saw last night.
It finished raining by 5:45 so we paid to go in and get our seats (general admission $30.00) and when we got to our seats they already were running the track in(by 6PM).
There were 2 graders, 1 bucket loader and about 5 other trucks / cars running it in.. From our seats I could count at least 10 other push trucks (most of them 4 wheel drive) with push bumpers and at least 4 tow trucks all sitting in the infield not helping at all.
At just before 8 they set off the fireworks to quote " entertain us while they prepped the track". They finished around 8:20 a soon after that they announced the cancellation of the race.
The same vehicles on the track still without any additional help from the ones sitting in the infield!!! Shame on them!! ( unless they were directed not to go out??)
I am convinced the management purposely lead us on to get our $$$ plus have us spend on concessions for 2 hrs and then cancel with the raincheck policy posted at the track and stated on their web page it's good for any of the races next 30 days..
Hummm next weeks special race is 18 to get in with 4,000 to the winner the highest gate ticket and winning purse in the next 30 days!!!
So 30 to get in, 18 next week leaves an additional 12 profit on each ticket plus not having to pay out the big outlaw purse versus next week pursue ... Even with the outlaw sanctioning fee being lost last night = mega profits for the Grove!!!
See this all as a Buisness move only and the hell with the fans!!!

If Pushin's comments are correct, and I have no reason to believe they are not, I would be out after a certain promoter. That is a total scam on behalf of the race rans.
I LEARNED ESP FROM MY MOM
"PUT YOUR SWEATER ON: DON'T YOU THINK I KNOW WHEN
YOU'RE COLD?"

I would call the track but I do believe that if you mail your ticket with a self addressed stamped envelope, they'll mail you a check for your refunded money...
Again, I would call the track to confirm that...
Opinions may vary...

I'll give you a reason...That is the policy for a weekly event in the event of rain...
They understand that people come from many a mile to see the circus therefore, they usually have a policy in place to deal with the disappointed circus goer in such an unfortunate event like the one last evening...
Opinions may vary...

I was thinking it has something do with with the outlaws had a race tonight and the show would have ran REALLY late last night with a really wet one lined track and maybe ruts and torn up cars. Maybe they could have gotten the track good enough to have a follow the leader deal but I doubt they could have gotten it near as good as friday night.
I still stay tarps should be experimented with in dirt track racing, maybe just lay them in the turns prior to rain?

That's true. I'd also bet that if you use the WOO raincheck next week they would refund the difference or else you can save it for the next WOO show. Call the track to find out. WG is not out to rip anyone off. They have one of the best raincheck policies of any track.
From what I understand, the track was soup last night and their was no way they were gonna get that run in, plus it rained later around 9. Williams Grove does have a midnight curfew that was put in place a few years back. Rainouts suck but no use crying over spilled milk. I'm sure the last thing WG wanted was to lose an outlaw show.

As for the push trucks sitting in the infield. From what i've been told with the New Insurance Company a few years ago. Push trucks are NOT permitted/covered to be used as a track maint. vehicles. That's why the last few years you do not see them help run in the track.

Rain check policy is on website. Mail your ticket with a self addressed stamped envelope to the track within 30 days and get a full refund.
Agree with the sad attempt at track prep, but the facts are there no way they got the race in as it started spitting rain the moment they called it. We wouldnt have seen more than time trials even with a good attempt at drying the track.

The WoO make all decisions when they race at Williams Grove. Williams Grove has no say in what gets done.

They would have never got the show in no matter what they did. Heck it was still drizzling when we left town this morning. As far as rain check policy, it is on the back of our tickets...use within 30 days or mail back in within 30 days for a refund just as dsc1600 stated.
