What a kid!! Ran strong today at Daytona, survived, literally a horrible crash and plans to head to Ocala tonight to wheel a sprinter!! during the final red flag I was listening to his in car radio and he says " what time is it"? Crew guy bask, " it's about 4:00, why you gotta another race tonight?" Kyle " Yea, I gotta get over to Ocala to run a usac car, but I'm sure you guys don't want to hear that", all the while everyone else is so concerned with drafting partners, etc... This kid is worried about wheelin a sprinter!! To say that kid doesn't have heart and determination? Wow!! He made a fan putt me today ( regardless of his sub-par move in the late model the other night) Guess its time to just on 40 and see him in his natural habitat, so off I go!! -Matt

I think Kyle should think long and hard before he go's racing tonight when fans who were hit by his tire could very well be fighting for their lives.

Kenny...you beat me to it. I think I would pass on racing tonight. If I were the car owner I think I might even call him and tell him to forget about tonight...there will be more opportunites down the road.

He was not listed on the qualifying order sheet from USAC, as of just a bit ago.

First off, thoughts and prayers to all that were injured today, but not race?, really? So should Smith and Keselowski sit out the 500 tomorrow if someone's life is still in danger since they're the ones who started the wreck.

I can see logic behind not racing tonight but don't agree. He was caught up in a wreck with lots of others so he shouldn't race tonight? I don't blame him any more than anyone else caught up in a real mess. They were going for the win in a dangerous sport. Instead... how about he race FOR those people, donate his winnings & pass a helmet around with 100% of money collected going directly to the families? Challenging others to match his donation? Kyle isn't racing tonight for the big bucks... he's doing it for the love of the game. Lots of little paydays add up to a lot of $$$ but I think taking a night off at the pay window won't hurt him much & might help some folks that deserve it.

Was it Kyle's fault that he got wrecked and his tire flew into the grandstands? He had no control over it, but certainly feels terrible about it. I'd said years ago about the catch fences at NASCAR tracks not being good enough. They upgraded to safer barriers, but paid zero attention to making the fences stronger.

If you would READ the entire post...it sounds to me as if he said that before the wreck

Not since his nasty ride at Eldora.

I was making a point, and what I do or don't interpreted from his post, and yes I read it ALL, has nothing to do with my point; and how you interpreted his post doesn't either.

As most of you know I follow tradition sprint car racing closely and I watched the USAC stream last night. I also know Kyle cannot strap on a non wing car any longer, but I thought there might have been a winged show down that way he was going to race in.
.
I was looking at it like this... He's a young man just getting started in what looks like to be a long career in NASCAR that could very well make him millions of dollars. Doe's he really want the grief that could come from him looking to some people as indifferent to what happened today? Look, I've been around open wheeled racing all my life, and I saw things at a young age that kids shouldn't see. So it's not like I'm not aware of how the show must go kind of mentality that we have in our sport, or that I'm against it.. I'm was just saying (thinking he had a winged race) that Kyle has a choice, and the decision he makes could follow him in a negative way for some time. It's a insightful observation folks, so don't blast me for being what's alien to some of a you.

He probably didn't even know parts from his car went into the stands until later & or someone told him. He maybe even learned about more of what happened in the infield care center ??? Maybe just maybe when he did find out he did alter his plans for the evening ???

Note sure who you're responding to, but I sure wasn't bashing Larson... Anyway I'll be sitting next to Randy AKA dirtface at the Copper on Dirt in a few day's, and on the top row! In other words, I'd be in fear of going over the top side if I ever even thought of bashing his little buddy Kyle Larson..LOL

Mmmm that's good news, but a surprise since it was announced after the Eldora crash that he wouldn't get in a non wing car again, and he hasn't been in one since. We would have loved to have seen him in one at the two day USAC national Hall of Fame race at Canyon at the end of the year, the two day Western World and the two day show at the Oval Nationals too. Now he did show up at Canyon in a Midget and won two nights in a row, and then won Turkey night at Perris, but nope, not one non winged sprint car ride since Eldora.

Why are you going on an a mindless rant like that on this thread? No one was bashing him here, or on any of the threads I've seen for him today for that matter... OK, I just read your thread again and I'm sorry, I don't understand what in the hell you're even saying..LOL
