Her results have been much more impressive than Steve Kinser or Sammy Swindell's were when they tried to break into big time pavement racing. Kind of puts things in perspective as far as the Danica bashing goes, doesn't it.

Not really Stan! Steve & Sammy cut their teeth on Sprint Cars and raced the majority of their careers doing nothing but that. They both tried Asphalt late in their careers but I truely believe that the radical nature of driving a Sprint Car is way so far off base from the NASCAR or INDY car that could not adapt. Maybe if given enough time and good equipment but that was not the case. Kenny Bernstien was a POS the way he did Kinser over. Danika cut her teeth on Asphalt.
Put this into perspective, If Danika were to get a top WoO ride from Tony Stewart, With her success in INDY & NASCAR could you see her competing in the top 5 or 10 with the World of Outlaws in 2,3 or 4 years? Could you see her making the Knoxville Nationals A-Main? Ever?
I'm not a Danika Basher, but I do believe if Steve Kinser or Sammy Swindell would have climbed into a Grand National Car in the 70's rather than a Sprint Car, They would have been one of the Best.

I agree with paintboss,put danica in a start and park car,she would have finished in the same place,first u have win races before u get the respect,i will bet janet guthrie could get a pole in great equipment,if danica wins a race or races she will get the respect,but for now she is just a party favor.does anyone remember loy allen jr got a pole at daytona or talladega never won a race,I AM NOT A DANICA BASHER,JUST AN OLD FASHIONED RACE FAN THAT IS TIRED OF THE DANICA HYPE IT SEEMS THESE DAYS THAT RACERS DONT NEED TO WIN BEFORE THEY GET THE ATTENTION,WELL IN MY BOOK U NEED TO WIN FIRST THEN YOU GET THE GLORY......NOT GLORY FIRST......WHAT HAS THE WORLD COME TO.

This evening my wife was watching a silly show called OMG insider. Hollywood garbage. Lo and behold they had Danica on it and asked her how her and her boyfriend get along on the track and off. This show has nothing to do with racing but there she was. The hype is over rated and so is she. She was given great equipment and can drive at speed, that is why she is on the pole at a track where all you have to do is hold it to the floor. She will be a train wreck most of the season. Nascar is cashing in on her big time and will oversaturate the public with it.
I tell it like I see it.

Danica drove Hendrick equipment last year. What makes anyone think she'll do any better in it this year? Her teammate Newman is mediocre at best and if you think she's going to do better than him, you're an idiot. And if you think Danica will win this year, you deserve to be laughed at. When has she EVER shown to be competitive in the cup series? ANYONE?????

That makes about as much sense as comparing Elvis to Pavarati!
I would be the last person to stick up for DANICKY but what she did was smart. She's starting on the pole Sunday so why risk tearing up equipment? Besides, Jeffy-Poo will probably smoke her on the start!

How can ya say that,when Steve tried in the Quaker State car Kenny B was on his way out.But keep the sponser for his new Sprint car team.In the IRoc series when all the cars are equal aginst the best drivers in all the series,didn't he win Taladaga.Like to see what they could have done with the same money shes got.Sammy didn't to bad on his Budget also.Don't have any of their shirts can't say I'm a fan but they put on a hell of a show I've been blessed and watch for years

I think the fact that Steve Kinser was able to win that IROC race so many years ago paved (pun intended) the way for Sprint Car racers to have success in Nascar. Like you say, they had to go to them at a younger age from Jeff Gordon to the latest Kyle Larson & all in between.

She was turning 10 grand on the tach....don't think they wanted to blow up that engine and start in the back. I think she just drove around. That's what I would do. Nothing to gain, so just ride around, and start the big show on Sunday from the front.

I never really liked Danica or thought she was any good, but all the hate on here for her in the most ridiculous way makes me want her to succeed just so all you jerks can eat crow.
