We've started this Organization as a way to
help get our message out. Support Minnesota Sprint Car Teams, Drivers
and Tracks! We're a group of fans that plan to raise money through
fundraisers and donations and give back to, and grow, the sport we love.
Businesses and individuals who support race teams, drivers
and tracks are undoubtedly the backbone of our sport. We in NO WAY want
to infringe on those relationships. Our
goal is to be an outlet for fans to be able to contribute to their
favorite sport, drivers and tracks in a more meaningful way than they
otherwise would or could. There is power in numbers. And we hope to grow
those numbers. Numbers of fans in the seats. Numbers of cars on track.
Numbers of Drivers/Teams. Numbers of shows that we can attend. Numbers
of happy track owners/promoters, etc.
Lofty goals we know.
Any "Organization" that was founded at 5:30am after Turn 3 and Hy-Vee
breakfast on the north side camping lots of the Fairlane Bowl in
Knoxville, Iowa during the 52nd Annual Knoxville Nationals (better than
at the Elephant Run though) probably shouldn't set such high
expectations for themselves. We just to hope to support, grow and most
importantly enjoy the great tradition that is Sprint Car Racing in
Minnesota. We are starting very modestly by selling some
stickers with our logo on them. You can message us here, email us at
[email protected] or follow us on Twitter @MinnesotaMafia.
100% of the funds raised will go directly back to support Sprint Car
racing and related charities. We have helped to
support The Jeff Gordon Foundation's "Kick-It" kickball game at Silver
Dollar Speedway's 59th Annual Gold Cup in Chico California in support of
childrens cancer research where Jackson County boy Jim Pomerenke of
Stepping Stone Genetics (Huge supporter of sprint car racing and
admitted Sprint Car Junkie himself) is the primary sponsor. We are supporting the Loren Barstad Memorial Race at Jackson Speedway on September 29th (check out the post here on hoseheads http://www.hoseheadforums.com/forum.cfm?ThreadID=71236 or go to http://www.jacksonspeedway.com/ or our facebook page for details) . Every penny raised will be put back into Sprint Car racing in Minnesota. Like us on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/TheMinnesotaMafia?ref=ts or follow us on Twitter @MinnesotaMafia. If you are interested in purchasing a sticker please e-mail us at [email protected] or direct message us on Facebook and Twitter. Stickers are $5 and we will gladly mail them to you. Pass the
word along to your friends if you like our message and help us spread
the word. See you at the track!

We as
founding members of the "Minnesota Mafia" have decided that we have not
done enough for the Loren Barstad Memorial race so we got our billfolds
and checkbooks out and put together another $500 to put toward the 360
purse.
We are going
to distributing this money in a fashion that we believe would make
Loren proud by adding it to the back of the field. Saturday night's
Memorial feature will now pay $400 all the way to 20th place. If we do
not get 20 cars the remaining bonus money will still be given out that
night to a 360 driver or 360 drivers in some form yet to be determined.
And again, outside of the $200 bonus for "Mafia" drivers/teams all of the prize money we have raised will be available to ALL DRIVERS.

OK, I will go ahead and break the seal on this......NICE WORK MN MAFIA!!!!!!!!!!!!! I assure you that your money is going to help some racer more that you will ever understand, but the fact that there are folks out there like you who are making an effort to help the guys that put on the show is worth more money than you will ever pitch in. On behalf of all the guys struggling to keep a car on the track, most of whom will probably never even race in MN, thank you for your dedication.
Loose is when you hit the wall with the rear of the
car, tight is when you hit the wall with the front of
the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and
torque is how far you move the wall.

Race fans where ever you live, please take the time to least thank the people that advertise on race cars, track billboards, whatever,, even if you don't go to the track. They deserve some recognition for their efforts to keep this sport afloat....THANK-YOU...
