All I've heard is what was posted on the team's twitter. That Jeff was moved to the burn unit in Grand Rapids. Best wishes for him and his family and hoping for a speedy recovery.

From: Indianaopenwheel.com
Only local news this morning was he is being treated for burns on his arms. Last night at the track it was stated he had burns on his arms and legs. It was hard to see from where we were sitting at the track. But it seemed he was in the car a long time before he got out. Also the car sat at the top of the banking of the track with what looked to be fuel running under it-burning. I have watched Jeff race more years then I can remember-hope he has a fast return to racing.

This is pasted from a post on FB.
Salem Speedway
Veteran sprint car driver Jeff Bloom was injured during a crash involving fire at Berlin (MI) Raceway on Saturday evening. A press release on the Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Series web site included the following: The only serious accident occurred earlier in the night when veteran Jeff Bloom appeared to loose an engine, or an oil line came loose heading down the backstretch. Bloom backed his car into the third turn wall resulting in an oil fire that kept reoccurring as safety officials attempted to put the fire out several times. Bloom was transported to a local hospital for observation. Please keep Jeff in your prayers.
My wife told me if I went to one more Sprint Car race
she would leave me.................I'm sure gonna miss
that ol' gal.

Apparently, the oil fire turned into an alcohol fire as Geoff Kaiser posted the following on Indiana Open Wheel:
This was another instance where the track safety crew did not know how to put out an alcohol fire and the driver suffered badly from it. Spraying chemical on an alcohol fire wont do a thing and it took a few of the sprint car drivers to run to there trailers and get water to finally put the fire out.
I find it really sad that track safety crews still do not have the fire aspect figured out after Wolfgang's fire and subsequent lawsuits. Prayers to the Bloom Family. Jeff is facing a long, painful road to recovery.

Use foam. It works.
