Fast and Furious Championship Series Resumes Saturday at Placerville PLACERVILLE, CA – After a one week hiatus to allow for the traveling King of the West Sprint Car Series, the action packed Fast and Furious Dirt Track Racing Championship Series returns to action this Saturday night at Placerville Speedway. Presented by the Red Hawk Casino, Hoosier Tires, Coors Light and Pepsi Cola, Saturday's third championship event of the season will feature three divisions of competition for the third points race of the 2012 season Winged 360 cubic inch sprint cars will headline the program Saturday night at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds.

The winged warriors will be joined by the fire breathing Limited Late Model Division and the always exciting Placerville Speedway Pure Stocks for a three division program that is sure to entertain fans and families of all ages. With just two championship events in the history book for the 2012 campaign, the battles are already beginning to take champion in the quest for the division crowns in all three weekly divisions. Routinely at Placerville Speedway these point battles go into the final weeks of the season in September and this latest campaign will likely follow suit due to the caliber of competition and the true talent that is strapping behind the wheel this season three divisions wide at the track formerly known as "Old Hangtown Speedway" and began operation back in the summer of 1965 when a community football field was converted into an auto racing venue that is now one of Northern California's most competive Saturday night venues.

"The fans at Placerville are by far the best anywhere," says defending champion Andy Forsberg of Auburn. "Alan Handy provides a great racing surface and the fan support here is just awesome. We want everyone to keep coming out here, tell their friends and neighbors and show their support for this place." After his first win of the season here two weeks ago, Forsberg is once again in the point lead at Placerville Speedway aboard his competitive F&F Racing #X1 Sprint Car. The three time Placerville Speedway champion that is known to fans and his counterparts as "Mr. Excitement" sits four points in the lead over his longtime arch rival, Sean "The Shark" Becker of Antelope, who much like Forsberg has many titles to his name excluding a weekly track championship at Placerville. Sitting third in the standings is opening night winner and former track champion Greg "The Catfish" DeCaires of Elk Grove. DeCaires is six points out of the lead and is holding off the talents of Cameron Park's Stephen Allard who sits fourth in the standings, just 8 points back from the leader. Trailing the fab four of former champions is Justin Sanders of Peardale who rounds out the top five tied with Allard. Nicole Miller of Elk Grove is one spot out of the top five positions.

In the Limited Late Model class, interest continues to grow in the exciting division but Live Oak's Matt Micheli is taking advantage of the early season car count by working on his point lead. Micheli has won both of the championship point races thus far and sits three points ahead of Cameron Park's Jay Norton. Former champion Marek Bernert of Orangevale is third overall, seven points out of the lead while Jackson's Doug Grandboise is fourth followed by Ken Micheli of Live Oak.

In the Pure Stock division, Matt Tilford of Orangevale has won twice this season already. Tilford now holds a six point advantage over 2010 division champion Chris Curtiss of Placerville. Scott Grunert is third in the standings of this well populated division while Dominic Stone of Folsom is fourth overall. Placerville's Danielle Clauson rounds out the top five after her two strong runs already this season, Clauson is ten points behind the point leader entering Saturday's event.
