Just announced that Indy500 winner Dan Wheldon has passed away today after an IndyCar crash @ Las Vegas Motor Speedway. RIP Dan

The entire racing world lost one of its best drivers today. I was so excited to watch today's race and now I am just filled with sadness. I'll miss watching him drive a race car because he could do it with the best of them.

It is very sad and what makes it that way is IRL. Weldon said that he was concerned about the drivers around him. I remember watching the IRL cars at Texas and I couldnt watch because it was a bad deal waiting to happen with the speeds they were going and the people who were driving these rocketships. I hate to say it but I just knew someday this was going to happen. You just cant have that many cars going these speeds so close together with people who are not good race car drivers.
