Belleville High Banks Await NCRA Modifieds This Sunday Night!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Park City, Kansas – August 28, 2011 - Two events remain on the 2011 race schedule for the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Smiley's Racing Products modified division. And as has been the case the past couple of years, the battle for the top of the championship point standings once again looks to be going down to the final event.

Current division points leader Bill Siemers of Mulvane, Kansas will look to pad his slim five point lead in the standings this coming Sunday night as the tour makes their second and final appearance of the season at the Belleville High Banks in Belleville, Kansas on a night that will see three divisions of NCRA all competing on this Labor Day weekend night.

A feature winner at 81 Speedway back in the midseason, Siemers looks to hold off Tyler Davis of Derby, Kansas as the driver on his sophomore season on the tour has put together strong and consistent finishes to put his sights on the point's championship.

Another driver who is in the midst of his sophomore season on the tour, Dan Powers of Wichita, is tied with former series champion Marc Hurd for third in the point standings. Both drivers are 85 points out of the lead with two scheduled events remaining.

Hurd picked up the victory during the tours last appearance atop the high banks back over the Fourth of July weekend.

Current series rookie of the year leader in point standings Austin Allen of Goddard, Kansas is fifth in the point standings while Mike Jarvis and Ross Shipman sit sixth and seventh respectively in the standings. Shipman also picked up his first career series victory earlier this season at 81 Speedway.

Rounding out the top ten in the standings are rookie contender Todd Doty, veteran Jim Johnson and Justin Moler.

Six races have been completed on the 2011 tour thus far this season with five different drivers having reached victory lane. They include former series champion Brian Franz with two victories, Justin Folk and the afore mentioned Shipman, Siemers and Hurd.

Gates open at 6:00 PM with hot laps starting at 6:30 PM. Races are set for a 7:30 PM start time. Tickets are 20 for adults while kids ages fourteen and under are just $5. All pit passes are $25. The Belleville High Banks is located 2.0 miles north of US 36 on US 81, then 0.4 mile southeast on M St. to 7th St., then 0.1 mile east (near the water tower, at the North Central Kansas Fairgrounds).
