the nicest driver in the sprint car world is usually the one who just won the main event, although there are a couple of exceptions!
to indy and beyond!!

Wayne Johnson is probably tops to me. I love listening to him in the pits... he tells it like it is.
He doesn't know me from Adam... saw him in the pits before a Bowl race this spring, walked to the trailer door and he hobbled over and stuck out his hand before I could say a word.
Maybe he "gets it"... that everybody that walks up might be capable of sponsorship. You never know who they are... don't judge a book by its cover, right?

Gary Wright, a true ambassador for the sport of sprint car racing. Even in difficult situations, Gary is always pleasant and positive to the fans, other racers and crews, the promoters, and especially the kids. And he is alway generous when others (racers, promoters, race directors, media) seek info or input. Lots of others as noted, great drivers, but The Texan, 2011 Sprint Car Hall of Famer, will always be among the top.

You will never find a nicer guy than Bill Rose. He also does the most with the least $$$ than anyone in sprint car racing!

There's a lot of nice drivers out there, in fact I'd say most of them if you catch them when they're not too busy. Stevie Smith stands out to me. I've heard some other fans say some negative things about Lance Dewease before but he was nice to talk to any time I've had the chance. In fact we ran into him at a gas station on the way to the track once and gave him as shout and he came over to our car and chatted for a few minutes.

As a member of Eagle Raceway's Tow Crew I have a unique perspective of a driver's personality. I often only interact with drivers after something bad has happened. So it's understandable that they aren't in the best of moods. Some are better, some are much, much worse to the point of crossing a line no matter how bad their night has gone. With all that said the nicest driver I've met so far has to be Mark Pace, hands down. About two years ago Mark took a HARD ride into the catch fence off turn 1. I was expecting the worst when I got to the car. Not only was he unhurt, but he jumped out of the car and gave a salute to the fans cheering for him. He was just happy to have gone for a ride and to walk away from it. Fast forward to a few weeks ago, Mark comes to an abrupt stop on the front stretch. His rearend housing broke on the left side. When I got to the car he was already unbuckling and climbing out, while chuckling. He was looking at his seat, trying to find the dent from where the housing had slapped him in the butt. He was walking kinda funny, he was sore, his night was over, and he was in a good mood.
I've had another driver throw his helmet at me after winning a feature, I've had drivers sling mud at me, I've had driver's swerve towards me. Mark has never said a bad word to me after wrecking.
Honorable mentions:
Tadd Holliman,
Tony Bruce Jr.

I think there are too many to name here, on a local level I do have to agree with Mark Pace and Tadd Holliman, Danny and Davey Heskin are great at Knoxville. On a more national level Jack Dover, Paul McMahon, TBJ

+1 Danny Wood
Brian Paulus, Jason Sides and Chad Kemenah all make the list for me also of nationally known drivers who will talk to anyone, anytime.
