I don't think so, seems like 22-28 have been running lately. Hopefully they get at least 20+!!!!

You should make the short trip to Lakeside for Saturday night too. Very good show last year.

I`ve been looking forward to it myself. I`ve been wanting to got to Belleville for years but I`m not a huge midget fan.
I do hope they have a full field but would rather see a show with just the top names than to see 30+ cars where half the field are cars that are 2 seconds off the pace.

On the FVP Racing Facebook page they created an event for Belleville. The FVP #21 should be there.

Other drivers that will probably be there.....#1 Sammy Swindell, #24/55 Terry McCarl, and #92 Kerry Madsen. A ? on Danny Lasoski but I would guess he is a possibility.

It should be a great show.. At least 25-30 range would be a great car count.. I am sure everyone will be satisfied.. Really looking forward to it..

Does anyone know if they have camping at the track or somewhere close? Can't get in touch with the track. Thanks

There is a park across the street from the fairgrounds and everyone who camps is there during the Midget Nationals so this will likely be the case for this event. If you don't need power there is no charge but there are hook-ups on the North end of the park by the baseball diamonds. I wouldn't worry about it too much - one of the big appeals to me about the Midget Nationals and Belleville in general is the hassle-free nature of how the community operates. I hope you all have a blast!

Don't get me wrong,I plan on going to this race, but I wonder does this track live up to the hype? The track record at Belleville is 14.3,Knoxville is 14.4. Is it the design of the track that makes it seem so fast?

The design of the track is definitely unique. I believe in the 80's or 90's they put signs in the turns numbered 1, 2, 3, 4 to help the drivers stay oriented. So.. it's pretty round. The first time I saw the place, what really struck me was how far the "backstretch" was from the front stretch (due to the circular layout). To sort of compare Knoxville & Belleville -- if Knoxville was Belleville, the backstretch would be in the old Pamida parking lot! Probably a bit of an exagerration, but it is a big track. If you put a winged 410 on a big, wide, circular track (banked or not) -- the speed is inevitable. I believe Danny Smith has been quoted saying that Belleville is the only track he has ever raced where the track took every single ounce of power that he could throw at it.

Somebody said (of course I can't remember who right now) that where the racing grove is (about midway up the track) actually measures 5/8ths mile. I believe Knoxville is closer to a true half. I saw in-car footage from a sprint car on here a year or two ago. The sound was amazing with the driver never lifting and the only change in sound being if the load on the motor changed at all. Otherwise it was one constant rumble of a sprint car going full throttle around the track.

I hate this for the fans. Especially those coming a long ways. I wouldnt count on a stellar outlaw turnout. Got a call from our local 360 sanctioning body looking for filler at Belleville. They say only 12 outlaw teams had committed to run and are in desperate need of cars to make a full field.

I never figured that there would be a large car count by any means, I was thinking maybe 18 410's and a few 360's that could make a decent buck filling the field. I will be going as this will be my only chance to see the Outlaws with the execption of the Nationals.

Belleville is NOT a 1/2 mile.....Go to Google Earth and look at the 1/4mi track on the inside.....
