David E. White, 61, of South Hutchinson, died May 22, 2011 at Promise Regional Medical Center. He was born June 1, 1949, the son of Wayne and Lois Layman White in Chanute, KS.
He was a United States Navy Veteran serving in Vietnam and a member of the American Legion Lysle Rishel post 68, Hutchinson.
He is survived by six daughters; Michelle Sanders, Bonnie White, Rachel Hernandez, Heather Chapman, Holly White and Noelle White, all of Hutchinson, five brothers; Robert, Kim, Cameron, Rebel, all of Hutchinson and Dennis of Wichita, two sisters; Debra White, Hutchinson and Dawn Thomas, Great Bend, 16 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne “Whiskers” White and Lois Collins.
Memorial service will be 10:30 AM, Friday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the David White Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Family and friends. I actually new David back in the 70's. A lot of time as went by since those good ole days.
Didn't he have a brother that use to take photos at Salthawk/Mohawk. I wonder if he still has his collection? No it wasn't the Carl on the fender of this car. I'm thinking Carl was related though.

Thank you for your kind words, I am David's youngest from the 1st set of kids. He loved racing and yes his brother Dennis took photographs back then; unfortunately he passed in 2018. I was the admin on his estate and I found some of the pictures but not as many as we thought we would find.
I believe the Carl on the car was a part owner back then, no relation though. I will have to double check with my mom, but i believe this is his first car and it was them and 2 other couples that went in on it.
