Kyle, Texas…….Rain, cold temperatures and an extended forecast for inclement weather through Sunday have conspired to force cancellation of Saturday's "Allstate Lightning 100" USAC Midget Race presented by Toyota at Thunder Hill Raceway. The decision to cancel was made by race organizer Full Throttle Productions and USAC officials after conferring with participants who completed a four-hour practice session at the track Friday night.

Extensive promotion had preceded the event, which had drawn an excellent field of 30 cars and top drivers from across the country.

The USAC National Midget Series now prepares for the May 5 "tripleheader" program at the Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa.
