Pretty quiet on this message board, only 16 days until the first race for winged 410s! Who is planning on racing with the WoO in Tulare besides Evan?

You are right, this board is dead. I heard Terry McCarl and Scott Winters will be at Tulare. KKR should have three drivers with J. Saldana, B. Sweet and Paul McMahan (replacing injuried Cody Darrah). Locals should include JA, T. Tarlton, P. Murphy, K. Hirst, R. Crockett and maybe Roth 83jr car. Other possibilities are Sammy, Jason Solwold, Jesse Hocket, Wayne Johnson .... the fun thing about this race is you never know who will show up. I am expecting 30 cars.

Here are the full time WoO drivers:

#7 - Craig Dollansky

#R19 - Jac Haudenschild

#91 - Cody Darrah (Paul McMahan)

#9 - Joey Saldana

#22 - Brian Ellenberger

#15 - Donny Schatz

#6 - Danny Lasoski

15H - Sam Hafertepe, Jr.

#63 - Chad Kemenah

#11 - Steve Kinser

#7s - Jason Sides

#11K - Kraig Kinser

#14 - Jason Meyers

#22 - Ben Gregg

#5w - Lucas Wolfe (starting out with WoO)

#4x - Toni Lutar

#83 - Tim Kaeding (starting out with WoO)

Here are the top 10 in GSC points - 2009. Hopefully we will see some local support for the WoO shows.

Tyler Walker moved to PA, JA should be there. Not sure why BK & teamate K. Larson are not racing... I hear they will be at the WoO Vegas show, why not run Tulare which both drivers have a ton of laps on. I would love to see E. Suggs, B. Carey, J. Statler and B. Bjork take on the WoO but not sure if they are coming either. Kyle Hirst is racing ASCS (360) and some 410 shows in midwest, since the season hasn't started yet ... .maybe he will be there.

A local can win Tulare WoO show as Randy Hannagan did last year (team has half the budget of most WoO teams). For Friday's race, the top four were local teams (Hurricane, Sammy, Sowold & T-Dub). When you add TK, P. Murphy and JA, 7 of the top 11 were local drivers and/or teams.

TOP 10 DRIVER POINTS
RANK DRIVER NAME POINTS
1. Tyler Walker 1553
2. Jonathan Allard 1527
3. Brent Kaeding 1518
4. Evan Suggs 1396
5. Kyle Larson 1349
6. Brandon Carey 1202
7. Jason Statler 1198
8. Bud Kaeding 1002
9. Brent Bjork 979
10. Kyle Hirst 734

Evan will be there, I heard from a pretty reliable source that JA will be there too but that is all I have heard besides the usual WoO. I hope that at least 30 cars show up!

I would take 20 - 410's over 40 - 360's anyday. When you see a 410 race, you know you are seeing the top drivers in the country & state. I would rather see the WoO drivers than the locals who I can see all year, every weekend.

Most local teams do not have the cash to spend for tires that you will run once then stack in your shop until september, don't think BK will be at the vegas outlaw show, he is with keith bloom running tuscon vegas and perris over the next two weeks, as far as I know there first show will be the mini.

Keith Bloom is an impressive young driver who raced non-wing last year in Indiana, Perris and Calistoga. We can see why Kaeding is supporting him with the traditional USAC sprint car schedule out West.

Not only tires but don't you have to "join" the WoO now for the "pleasure" of running with them? Frown

Yes, you do have to join. However, if you plan to run Gold Cup in September you will need to join so why not get 4 nights for the price of 1 membership rather than just 2? We joined thinking we'd have 6 nights when the Mini was suppose to be a sanctioned WoO race as well, now it's not so we will settle for the 4 nights.

or....why even join?

Two side to it I guess.

I just wonder how many teams will join and buy tires for two weekends of racing...+ other expenses, etc.

I guess I am just too old and too much in favor of "local racing" over the traveling circus!

Hope y'all who go have a wonderful time.

Go MARK KINSER and ANDY HILLENBURG! Wink

Lets see here 9 WoO races on the West Coast don't see why joining would be a problem

Tires; teams will go through a set of tires (rears) in a night

You can probably count on one hand..and have a finger or two left over...as to the number of teams who will run ALL the WoO shows out here!

And I wondered why Tyler left Cali.... Shoot after looking at this topic on this board, I dont think I have ever seen this problem with the folks in PA. Not running with the Outlaws when they are in your neck of the woods. Because of a membership fee and the cost of tires.... I thought the point of racing was to race! Striving to beat the best, well in order to do that, you have to race against the best. And to the newcomer that comes into this sport, they would never guess that Cali had a long list of respectable drivers... Guess they dont make em like they used to! No wonder they talk about PA vs the Wold of Outlaws and just skip by the Cali based teams.

Uh....think this will be the FIRST YEAR Posse folks have had to join.

Tire deal...up to them.

Just a personal thing....would rather see and help locals.

The old thing of "racing against the best" is just that....old.

The travelers put on a good show...no doubt about that.

However, I would rather see my "local group" on a regular basis than the extra $$ to participate and/or attend the traveling show! Smile

To bad in this case the old way of doing things where better then anything we have seen in sprint car racing in the last 10 or more years..... Seems to me this sport is past its hay day, and doesnt look to ever get back to the glory years...

Just like the Super Modifieds died a slow death! I don't know if they even have them anymore.

15 years ago they were running from Phoenix to Idaho!

You have a number who still run "out of pocket" but the sport has become so expensive it is extremely difficult to be competitive unless you have the money or have access to OPM!

I think any major change (and I consider tires a major change) should have at least one year notice.

While I love racing I just can't see the "expense" to run a couple of times a year with the travelers.

Basically, you have Tulare and Gold Cup. Four nights.

Is it worth it to you to spend the extra money?

Time will tell.

Have a nice weekend. I keep watching the sun show up and then disappear. Weather DUD said rain last night and then most of today. Still waiting for the first "drop!" Frown

there's alot of talent that's going to be there that can take Tulare but I'm a local guy and i've seen how some of these guys run at Tulare or just on the short tracks period and Jason Meyers and Tim Kaeding will be heavy favrites but don't count out S. Kinser or saldana hopefully Shatz balls it up!!!
