I hate to say David but you can scratch me from this date. My anniversary is Feb 14th and don't think my wife is THAT understanding..... I never understood putting that big of a show on that weekend

man I can relate to that lol.
As a fan I have to say tho - this was a fantastic show last year. Well, the racing may not have been an A+ - it was non stop for 7+ hours. Yeah there was good racing in it - but a lot of sub par as well. Kind of like the Tulsa Shootout a couple weeks ago. It's hard to take a lot of breaks for track prep when its so cold. although at the Shootout they just didn't have a lot of time. I've come to think thats just kind of the territory with big shows. But on the plus side - you know that to some degree - you are going to see a heck of a race. I'm glad Cowtown does this. If it was a smaller show I don't think it would work. But as a open wheel fan - or even just dirt track fans - if the weather is bearable and the funds are there - this is a must see show.
I just hope it's a little warmer this year. Last year got very brisk but luckily the wind wasn't too brutal. 5 layers, handwarmers, and many blankets were still required. But I really like that Cowtown (better yet its promoters) have not just the balls to put on such a show - but the moxy to pull it off. I really look forward to seeing the new small track the restricted will be on. Hope my friends go down as well.
I already had a lot of interest in this race after seeing it last year - plus it will be Micro Heaven part 2 for 2010 lol......but I have even more now that the mods are under the NCRA banner. Not that I am a big fan of mods - but they're ok. I guess for me it just depends on the track. Personally, as a spectator, I really like watching the big mods at Cowtown. It's a tight-yet-fast bullring and it really looks like all the drivers get their bows up to get around it. It's just fun to watch. But aside from the unmatched quality of racing that Cowtown consistently puts forth - I like to know I am supporting a good track and good series - all of it ran by good people. Whether that be Darin Short and Michelle and Bo Rawdon at Cowtown - or fellas like Chris Smith and David Smith. These people put in a lot of time and effort to put extremely high quality shows together. Cowtown being my fav. track outside of the Fairgrounds - and ASCS2 probably being on my favorite series, as well as midgets, and technically this will be my first NCRA mod race. I really look forward to it. Just hope the weather is better than last year's Feb. show - but I'll take even that over the disaster mother nature threw forward down there last October.
btw - where you plan to race this year Mr. Nix?
