WESTERN MIDGETS AT VENTURA APRIL 7; STRATTON TAKES BAKERSFIELD 30-LAPPER
Chris Rahe of Placentia, Calif. is the new leader in the USAC Western Midget Series after his second-place finish behind Danny Stratton in last Saturday night’s 30-lap race at Bakersfield (Calif.) Speedway.
Rahe holds a 13-point edge over Stratton going into an April 7 race at the Ventura (Calif.) Raceway.
Stratton trailed Rahe for the first 20 laps at Bakersfield, then led the final 10 laps in his Hammer Homes/Great Westerm Building Materials Spike/Esslinger to beat Rahe, Nathan High, Greg Bragg and Josh Wise. Stratton was also the fastest Bakersfield qualifier.
