On saturday night when the red flag comes out for the fuel stop you need to all show your displeasure. So all of you BOO as loud as you can. I think Knoxville is a great facility, but out of the respect and love for the sport we all have, we need to let them know that they are heading in the wrong direction. We can't change the format this year, but if the fans show that they aren't happy, we can make sure this fuel stop does not return.

You'd make a lot more sound with some class, as apposed to sounding like your Sunday afternoon racefans. Let it play out before you knock it, then make your suggestions, likes, dislikes, to the people who matter, and it will be heard. Using one word as a mass of 10,000-hell I don't know to 1,000,000 is getting through to noone. The only thing you'll achieve is bringing things back to the way they were, I wanna see progression.

There's talks of having a 50 lapper next year. I don't want to see the Knoxville Nationals become a fuel mileage race.

I agree Savage, let's not judge until it all plays out. If it sucks, do whatever you want, e-mail the track, moon the crowd, boo, whatever. But there is a chance Cappy and the gang can look like a genius with this move. Let it play out first, then be the judge.

Rogue, are you not aware that as an individual you no longer have the right to question anything?
I respect the opinions of those above who say "give it a chance" but like Rogue I don't like it...even before it happens.
If I were able to be there I would unfurl a big banner and walk the front so people could read it.
NO FUEL STOPS!
Gotta love sprint car racing...and even the fans!

Yes, but "some teams" would have to purchase them and, as mentioned MANY times before, that is just flat unfair!

Yeah its not a good investment to purchase a fuel tank for one race. Only if most of the series and 410 tracks changed to a bigger fuel tank would it be feasible.

Should have been at Pevely Saturday night, it sucked when the red came out and the announcer tells us these cars are NOT designed to run 55 laps. I say then don't run 55 laps, because they call these beast sprintcars.

they could have a wreck on lap 20 and call it an open red, or just use it to put fuel in and not have to stop the race just for fuel.

I agree with letting it play out. I'm not a fan of scheduled fuel stops, but I'm willing to let this thing play out before passing judgement.

Rogue, do you think they should have booed Shane S. in the heat last night?
Heat two (started): 1. Calvin Landis 70 (2) 2. Brandon Wimmer 7TW (1) 3. Johnny Herrera 2w (4) 4. Matthew Reed v92 (9) / 5. Brad Sweet 91 (5) 6. Ed Lynch Jr. 2L (6) 7. Josh Schneiderman 49 (3) 8. Stewart 57 (7) / 9. Conley 3c (8) DNS - John VanDenBerg K9 When Lynch tried to shoot outside of Herrera to start the heat, contact was made with Lynch breaking a front axle. The crew didn't have time to finish the job, but got it after another lap failed to get in. Conley had hit the bottom berm in turn two and broken something in the front end. Landis led the 10-lap distance, but Stewart was the mover. He shot into third, but ran out of fuel on the white flag lap, handing the final transfer to Reed.

So if we add fuel stops will they be called marathon cars instead of sprint cars?

The more laps the better. I like the idea of 50 lap races on all tracks. The 25 and 30 laps races go by so quick. We just need bigger fuel tanks. It's 2009, they should be safe by now!

I agree, let it play out, if it doesn't work, then go back to the way it has been. You can never progress if you don't try a few different things now and then.
