If you were looking to order one of the reproduction nose and hoods available, what would you say the style is that you would be looking for,as on this car? like Beck, Ward,Watson, etc.? thanks, ron c.

RRC,...I think the best source for different styles for a sprint nose is Speedway Motors in Lincoln. They have toll free numbers and several different styles were made in Lincoln by Snider Fiberglass in years past. ...Luther

thanks for the reply Luther, the problem I had when I called Speedway is they don't have pictures of the styles that are available. They list Beck and Edmunds for the hood and nose but I basically need to know what I want. I know its not the CAE style that they show but I'm guessing what the others look like.I was hoping someone may recognize the style from the photo. ron

Ron,...I just searched the web for Snyder Fiberglass & they still manufacture fiberglass tanks & boats. They list an outlet store in Lincoln. I bought several race car body parts when I was in racing., Snyder owned the car that Kenny Grites won the 1969 Knoxville Nationals in. The nose on the 8th car I built was from Snyder & known as the #44 nose. They likely made the Beck, Watson, CAE & others. It might be worth a phone call. There number is 402-475-2998. ....Luther

You might try this address "macmillersgarage.webs.com" in the gallery section he has a sprintcar nose and tail like you are looking for.

RRC, If you contact anyone on the phone about body parts, ask them to email you photos of any you are interested in using to make a selection from. Just a suggestion,....Luther

I don't know what version that hood nose is but it is drool worthy for sure.
That hood looks to me like a Ward-Watson without the injector box and a trimmed down cowl for the plexiglass. The nose however, I have no idea, but it looks good.It just might be a Ward -Watson sprint car nose that was reworked on the bottom to get more air into the engine compartment.
I wouldn't suggest getting the Ward-Watson nose from Speedway , they don't fit the hood they are meant for, trust me I know this one. I WANT ONE!
Macmiller is the guy I would suggest, second would be Prueitt in Pennsylvania. Mac is going through here on occasion, I'll hit him up on it when I find him.
Ralph Prueitt has the phone number of 717-428-1305. You may be directed to Ralph from there since that is I think his brothers number as well.

I wouldn't buy any of the Speedway fiberglass body parts. I had a hood that came from there, it was so BAD it couldn't be used. They wouldn't make it good because it was "special order"! The super body wasn't much better, but with some bondo and LOTS of sanding, it worked out.

Mac said it is a Grant King Hood shortened down to fit as wellas a shortened cowl. The nose is not identified, but a Grant King nose could be reworked easily by any fiberglass guy.
I would go with his call, he's been around.

I just checked my list from Ralph Prueitt, he lists the pieces you need. I don't know his status, but he does list them.
