| Hansen Leads CRA Feature Field For First Series Victory |

PERRIS, Calif. - Garrett Hansen has won in USAC California Ford Focus Midget and Western Midget Car Series action in his career, and on Saturday at Perris Auto Speedway, he added the CRA Sprint Car Series to that list. Hansen, of Manhattan Beach, Calif., led all 30 laps of the CRA program after starting on the outside of the front row, and was never headed in winning his first career USAC/CRA Sprint feature. Hansen, in the No. 70 family-owned Sprinter, led Rip Williams for nearly two thirds of the race before Tony Jones got by. While Jones cut deep into Hansen's lead - which at one point was more than a straightaway - Hansen had enough to hold the multiple-time Perris winner off at the checkered flag by less than two car lengths.
Trailing Hansen and Jones at the finish were 2004 series champ Williams, Scotty Weir and Danny Sheridan. Weir was named the race's hard charger after coming through the field from 16th starting spot.
Former USAC/CRA champion Damion Gardner escaped serious injury following the evening's only flip during the feature.
Mike Spencer, who finished the feature in sixth, led qualifications, taking the No. 50 Sprinter, owned by Ron Chaffin, around the half-mile at 16.746 seconds. Jones, David Cardey, R.J. Johnson and Williams won 10-lap heats, while Rickie Gaunt earned the 12-lap semifeature.
Thirty-four cars were on the grounds.

How about that save by Mike Spencer? That was amazing. We got a good view of the bottom of his car. I think he only lost about 5 positions and by the end he got back up to 6th, only 2 back from where he was running at the time.
Congratulations to Garret Hansen. He did a great job all night.
