Enid Speedway Parks Annual Race Car Show will be held March 21st 2009 at the Jumbo's Foods East location from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Trophy's will be handed out to the best looking Race Car in each division. They are Modifieds, Street Stocks, Sport Mods, Factory Stock & the Pure Stock Classes. Jumbo's will be providing hot dogs & drinks. We are also looking into having a live radio broadcast for this event. So bring your new Race Car out and show it off up close to all the fans and maybe take home a Trophy. After the Car Show bring your car out to the Enid Speedway Park race track for a Test & Tune Playday from 3-? We are looking forward to see you and your new ride's there, Thanks to all of you and to Jumbo Foods.

Why is Enid not on the schedule for the NCRA deal for Sport Mods?

Thanks for any answer you might have Jimmy.

I know Lonnie was thinking about it. I will ask him and let you know as soon as I can.

As of right now it only looks like two Oklahoma race tracks are doing this. Elk City & Meeker for the sport mods and three for the modifieds. The rest is in Kansas. I agree we need more Oklahoma tracks to get on board with this not just Enid. I think it wont be around next year if thats the only tracks that are going to run it. I will ask Lonnie about Enid, but thats about all I can do. But I will let you guys know if its going to make a stop at Enid.

To predict of ones demise is a bit premature. Less we forget that NCRA has been in exsistance since 1971 - that is 39 yrs. and not one division has only lasted one season during that period. NCRA will have both these divisions for not only 2009 but years to come and just as in 2009, there will be a points fund for the drivers. And just as requested for as long as I can remember, drivers want a traveling series to race other tracks and they now have one with an established racing organization.

Organizations or tracks and success wasn't built in just one year or right off the bat. It will take time and once it is proven drivers are supporting this series, I believe there will be more dates added. The season hasn't started yet, this is not a done schedule.

Unless people know what is going on and being discussed behind the scenes both in the past and the present, it isn't Kosher to predict anything.

thats a series of good points david.......

imho the economy must sure be workin against it or something.....

also imho - it seems Enid's participation was absolutely central to the formation both Oklahoma mod and sport mod division. dont get me wrong though - they can/probably will still pull it off without enid. it just means less than 10 races spread out over distance. nothing they can do anything about. i just figured when both these divisions were being formed - that Enid was the main track in mind. figured it was 3-4 shows SOLID for both divisions. i dont think i am the only one who presumed this either.

Enid has been about the only track the last few years willing to run NCRA. i think it has been good for em - their drivers go support ncra and stuff at wichita - and some of the their guys come down to support Enid. it just seems like a perfect fit for Enid to run all this NCRA stuff. so i guess i am askin too - what the deal? (respectfully of course). because i am relatively sure that anytime an Oklahoma mod/sport mod series was talked about --- Enid Speedway was absolutely central to the conversation....

btw good for Brill to get involved - although i hope for his sake it wont be on a wednesday night. to me that is like giving it little chance to succeed.

I'm not sure a prediction of success or failure is even a part of the topic just yet, the people running the NCRA have certainly done a great job with any series they have touched.

I guess my biggest concern is that if this series was thought of and conversations lead to actually doing an Oklahoma series why wouldn't there have been more tracks in Oklahoma signed up before it ever made it this far?

I'm not against running some tracks just into Kansas, in fact I think it would be fun to go up there and race.

I think the tracks (anywhere) should have more motivation to get behind something like this. The first thing they will think of is they can't give up their regular night of racing, frankly I don't blame them in times like these but that doesn't mean something couldn't be worked out.

Maybe all this is going on behind the scenes as I'm sure you guys are doing all you can to make the series a success. Having a track race on a Wednesday night isn't going to draw allot of people from out of town and unfortunately that's where this thing pays off for the raceways.

Please don't take any of this any other way other than constructive criticism, if you can even call it that because I know what it's like to try and promote a series. I would try and make all the races this series offers, us the racer, but I will be limited to Friday night, Saturday anytime or Sunday anytime.

Thanks for your time.

We dont get any of the concession stands at the track and fanancing could be a proublem, 'not noing for sure the car count that will turn out for this series' Enid is not going to be part of it this year and we are sorry about that. We will keep an eye on how the car counts are for this event at other tracks and see what happens next race season. Sorry but we and I think alot of other tracks are in hard times right now. I can not predict things like david said its not kosher, but it could be a reason other Oklahoma tracks are not on board yet. I really hope they do but if not Im sure they have a good reason also. If there is someone who wants to put up some money and help sponser it. That might make a differance. As for wednesday races I think who ever wrote that is right. Once again we at Enid are Sorry, Thank you.

Is it true Enid's pit passes are going up to $30 every week and the grandstands are going to $12?

The pit passes are $30 but if you look at about all the other tracks theres are $30 also not all but a lot of them. As for the grandstands they are $10 I think thats what they were last year and the kids tickets are also the same as last year. I think but not 100% sure there is going to be a $7.00 grandstand night to see what happens.

I know Outlaw and TriState does it says $30.00 under the pit admission prices. Look on there websites. I can not say the other tracks will but that is because they dont have there price listed. Now I think it is Brill that says $25.00 unless they just have not updated there website yet. When all track websites are updated we will know.

The tracks that have $30 pit passes say that $3 of that pass goes into the drivers fund. So is Enid doin the same thing?

As for Brill runnin on Weds., either ur a racer or not. Do the USMTS guys complain about how their schedule is? Or WoO drivers? Oklahomans have such a mind set that nothin will work here. If we really want change to come to our state, we need to support this. If we get the car counts like we should, the tracks will most likely be forced to change if they want to survive. Anything is better than what we have now.

JMO, i'll take 39 years of success running a sanctioned series than whats been goin on here.
