i am an ou fan of course ------- but i have to say that i think missouri is gonna be lights out this year. i think their qb chase daniel should be the heisman favorite behind tebow. the missouri-kansas game will have huge implications - as will the big 12 title game even more so if the north winner is undefeated at the time. which if missouri and maclin and daniel play like they did against illinois ----- is very possible.

i'll tell you what tho ----- i think both the ACC conference and the Big 10 conference suck! and the big 10 getting an automatic bid to the rose bowl is a sham. a money backed sham. that means if ohio st. goes to the nat. title - then some 21st ranked team like illinois or wisconsin goes to the rose bowl over a team ranked like 7th or 8th. what a joke. on that account alone ----- i'm rooting against ohio state a whole lot. and wake forest seems to be the only respectable team in the ACC. folks keep talin bout Utah and BYU and the mountain west not being a BCS conference school. i think ncaa has a BS way of doing things. because the mountain west may very well be better than the acc or big 10 this year. especially if they keep doin what they did this week over the course of their non-conference schedules........i think the Big 12 is a close 2nd best conference ------- i still think the SEC is the best. they are most years.......it will be fun to watch tho. tennessee vs. ucla tomorrow should be a good game. i mean - i hope it is just as a viewer.....

Oklahoma State!!! GO POKES!!! It would be great to see them in it, or maybe a BCS bowl first!

Now on a more serious note. :D I think OU has a heck of a chance at in along with Missouri. I just think Missouri will lose one somewhere during the season.

many heavy hitters. texas tech will be dangeroud this year - but that still suspect defense will keep them out of it. kansas - now there a darkhorse. missouri got so good in the north that just like last year - no one mentioned kansas. but they still got Reesing - yet another big 12 possible heisman contender. but their schedule this year actually has some football teams on it. last year they had the easiest schedule in the nation (they really did). OSU is good. most still think they a 7 win team at least. maybe 8 at most. i disagree. they are a supposed "upset" win away from being a 9 or 10 win team. even as an ou fan - i believe that. but ya gotta remeber how good the big 12 is. it will be tough.

texas - who knows maybe last year was colt mccoy's sophmore slump. if he bounces out of it and they get a better running game - their defense is still lights out.

bottom line - big 12 is good. and yeah texas AnM aint that good. but most are saying its a bad loss for A&M more than a good win for arkansas state. i disagree. no the aggies aint good - BUT - ya'll..........arkansas state is not a bad team. they been at the top of the Sun Belt conference for a couple years now - which is division 1. ithink they did win the sun belt last year - i remember they were reppin the sun belt in a bowl game. and c'mon ------ Troy is in the same conference - everyone thought how horrible when they beat OSU last year. but Troy was really good..............these teams are upset oriented teams. with enough hard work and preparation - they all are. but no a&m will take time to rebuild how badly franchione screwed everything up.

I'm a POKE FAN FIRST!!!!!!! GO O.S.U!!!!!!!

I'm also an avid college football fan, from top to bottom the best conference is the S.E.C. with the Big 12 next.

I'm not on that Missouri train, that defense looked truly suspect against Illinois, but they will be in the hunt for the title up North right along with Kansas, Colorado, and Nebraska.

As for the South. Oklahoma has a chance to contend for the national title, their offense is as good as anyones but need to see how defense is against some real football teams. I believe OU is head and shoulders above the rest in the south.

The runner up spot will be decided between Texas, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma State.

I think Texas will be down this year and Tech and OKla. State will have an offensive shootout as usual.

I think U.S.C will dismantle Ohiu State and I believe that L.S.U will even take a couple of losses this year.

My pick for the National Title game is U.S.C and Oklahoma

Oh yeah, Florida will be good but will take a couple of conference losses, had to mention them because thats Milts favorite team!!! LOL LOL LOL

over 100 hundred teams in division 1 NCAA football would prob pay to have the same problem OU does. no they have not done well in bowl games - but they still been winning Big 12 Championships - and going to the BCS games - which means money for the entire conference.

as for Missouri - i think last saturday said more for the talent of Juice Williams than it did for Mizzou's defense. Illinois with Zook and Juice has a stout and talented offense. but mizzou does need to shore up the defense against the pass and long ball..............but the Illini has a great offense.......

Ohio St. losing Wells is a tough loss. but i think their backfield is talented enough a stud or 2 will emerge...........but i still think they lose to USC. I dont think USC is even among the top 5 teams in the nation - but they will be in the BCS title game because they have a weak schedule - and they are in a very weak conference. i think the Mountain West is better than the ACC, Pac 10, and Big 10.

how bout East Carolina? beating VT with Beamer ball! that was great. they play host to West Virginia this week. a game if they win really does give them the inside track to a BCS bid for a non BCS team. to beat VT and then WV - that would be huge. utah's win over michigan was a big one - but not the upset it was made out to be. michigan would do well to win 4 or 5 games this year everyone says. i think they are ok ----- i think utah is a great team with a 4 year starting QB. muchigan will be in a bowl - but i think it will be the insight or one of the pre-christmas day bowls.

It's too early to tell who has what yet. I'm interested in seeing if the sooners will be able to play defense and not have a letdown after the scrimmage last saturday. Hmmmmm. Let's see about that after saturday. Cinci is a good team. Disciplined and well coached. What do you think about that 5can? Am I right?

GO POKES!!!!!!

Well after the first weekend of college football, there only seem to be many unanswered questions!!!!

I believe the only big upset was with TEXAS A&M getting knocked around by Arkansas State. There were some big wins by teams like; East Carolina and Utah but I wouldn't call them upsets!!!

I do not believe that cinn. has a chance against OU, I will promise you that OU still remembers the colorado game last year and I believe that OU has one of the best coaching staffs in all of college football. All this coming from a POKES fan!!!!

OSU looked alright against WSU but still have alot of room for improvement.

I think that USC has the easiest road to the championship game!!!!

pitt gettin knoxcked off at home was an upset too.

tonight vanderbilt beat south carolina. SC was ranked 24th -------- this was the highest ranked team Vandy has defeated since 1937............wow! not sure how much an upset it was - i thought the week before NC State made SC look good because they were so bad. but it is still a great win for the Vandy program.

i dont agree with cincy not having a chance against OU. not at all. in fact the opposite - i think they have a much better chance than anyone is givin them credit for - including vegas. this was a 10 win team from last year - returning most starters on both sides of the ball. i bet you cincy believes they have a chance - and that is all that matters. this team is not the C-USA school of 5-10 years ago ----- they are a big east team now which means they have more chips to bargain with in recruiting and facilities. last year they saw it pay off somewhat. dont get me wrong - i still think the odds are 75-25% OU wins. but - its why games are played. who knows about momentum and mistakes? i think cincy has to play their best game of the young century to give themselves a solid chance. if they dont force ou to turn the ball over - or go 3 and outs often ------- OU wins by 20-24 pts. i say...........but if the cincy team executes like they are CAPABLE of doing ------ i think OU wins by 10 maybe less.

but there is reason games aren't played on paper lol. i'm not downing anything. i'm hoping for an impressive performance from OU and a good 3 TD win or something like that -------- what i am doing - is giving more credit to cincy than anyone else dare will. this team has shades of TCU all over it ------- but then again - this OU is better than a few years ago - to what extent - we will find out saturday when ou faces its first real opponent of the season. go sooners.

i'm even goin for osu except for when ou plays em. i hope they do well this year. they been teetering right on that threshold of making it to a 9-10 win team. i think thet are capable this year of making a lot of noise. for the upper echelon of the big 12 south. of course i hope ou smashes them. but i hope losing to ou is only their 2 or 3rd loss of the year. like i say - i hope they do well. state pride I say! well - lol to an extent lol. go tulsa too. they look like they will compete for C-USA championship i mean have a good shot. how good was it for them get out of the miserable wac and into the c-usa. i say miserable wac not because the wac aint good ------- but can you imagine the travel cost along tulsa has EVERY year playing in the WAC with west coast teams ---- i bet their travel bills have been cut in half and them some! lol. mossman you are associated with Athletic department's ---- would you agree with that?

and how cool is it that the big 12 finally has a 2nd division again? lol. they are all competitive now. kansas, mizzou are awesome teams - colorado is improving to a far extent. iowa state still kind of sucks but they could challenge a couple non suspecting conference teams. Nebraska - lol work in progress. but they should believe in Pelini - a proven good coach. Kansas State - aint heard much about them - but i say they are probably like Iowa St. but hey - we have a competitive north again FINALLY. its a good thing for the conference. maybe we could PLAY ourselves into 2 BCS bids ----- unlike the sorry ass big 10 that gets a 2nd bid if one of their teams goes to the BCS title game. the rose bowl "situation" needs to be done away with. let every conference have the fair shot. yeah the main conferences should get automatic bids ------ but i;m tired of seeing some piddly-ass 23rd racked team go to the rose bowl. over more deserving teams ranked in the top 10. a good deal of room should be made for the smaller conferences. not too much - we dont need bcs reps from all the sun belt, MAC, WAC, and C-USA EVERY YEAR ------- i like the look this year of East Carolina, BYU, and especially Utah. but i think the mountain west is among the top 5 conferences in football this year - it will be hard for any team to emerge from it undefeated. with tcu, byu. utah, colorado st., - there are some good teams in that conference, esp. the first 3 i mentioned. it will be FUN FUN FUN to watch.

damn how i love football season.

Well if its a win or lose bet, I dunno about that. I think OU is gonna be damn hard to beat this year and I hope OSU lives up to their potential. I want so see both play a Big 12 game first though. Then we can work something out.
