I plan on taking a couple hours of vacation on Friday and heading down there weather permitting. You can save yourself a case of carpal tunnel and skip the tar is for getting there comments. If anyone used to watch the Thursday Night Thunder series from IRP on ESPN they will realize that this can be some exciting racing. I thought I'd check out something different for a change and get some shots for the Racing Connection.

Friday, May 16th La Crosse Speedway invites the USAC Midgets and the Mid-American Stock Cars for a special night of racing.

I am going to La Crosse for the midgets. I finally made up my mind this evening. I was considering going to Shawano. But I wanted to see something different. Motel rooms are a bit scarce, but i found one. On Saturday I have several options, but i'm leaning towards Plymouth. I love that little bullring. I can also go to Slinger,Wilmot, or even the Dells. On Sunday I am planning on staying with my sister and her husband in Madison so I can go to Sun Prairie. I really hope the weather straightens out. Jim L

Good to hear that someone I know will be there. I talked to Dan earlier today and I thought he said 37 Midgets are preregistered. I suppose that's possible if this is a USAC points race so it sounds like it's going to be a good race. I'll probably be doing the picture thing and I have to drive back to Forest Lake right after the races so I probably won't be hanging around for long. Maybe we'll get a chance to talk sometime during the evening. I have never been there and it's rare for me to go to a pavement race but Midgets on a big track like this should be good. Enjoy the show in case we don't get a chance to talk on Friday. I've got to get home, get up and cut the grass then head out to CLS for their opener on Saturday.
