It seems that the Calistoga Fairboard in all their wisdom has decided that there can be no USAC/BCRA sprint and midget racing at Calistoga Speedway Labor Day Weekend of 2008. It seems we get closer and closer each year but still no cigar. Best regards Jermar.

Maybe they'd go for an Open Competition
Race?

Dang! I was hoping for a road trip through wine country and a race the same weekend...the scenery doesn't get much better than that!

If true it is really to bad. I was so looking forward to heading up there. So many race fans wanted the race to happen. Watching Tony Jones, Kruseman, Spencer, Rip Williams and the rest of the group would have been exciting @ Calistoga. Steve Howard has worked hard trying to put this together. I hope there is still a chance for the show to go on.

Word in the pits at Perris Auto Speedway (4/12) is that the USAC/CRA race is STILL ON at Calistoga. People are still working to promote and raise money for the event.

This Norther California Sprint Car thread has some info. I guess there is still some hope even though the board voted not to have the show. http://www.hoseheadforums.com/forum~ThreadID~15087.htm
Second page on the 10th.
