USAC REVIEWING FORD FOCUS PROGRAM; NEW ENGINE SOURCE, OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS PLANNED

MARCH 14, 2008 --- The United States Auto Club is currently reviewing all aspects of its expanding Ford Focus Midget racing program, which in 2008 is entering its seventh season of competition. The program which culminates in the crowning of a National Champion and the presentation of the Henry Ford Sweepstakes Trophy, has witnessed more than 400 events since its debut in 2002 and in 2008 will included regional championships in Indiana, California (2), North Carolina, Utah, the Northeast, the Midwest and under USAC/UMARA auspices.

Teams involved in USAC Ford Focus racing have been contacted regarding expected changes through distribution of a competition bulletin to all member participants.

In April a new engine source will be named using the current Ford engine as a base with the program’s future success driving major announcements which will be made in the coming weeks.

“We expect no competitive difference with the new engine supplier and a seamless transition for future engine and transmission part needs,” explained USAC President/CEO Kevin Miller.”

Formal announcements are also expected in April regarding the new engine supplier and details surrounding engine supply and parts availability.

Ford Racing currently has 25 engines in stock, available for sale, to address immediate engine needs. They can be purchased through East Enterprises at 317-852-4411.

“USAC and Ford are fully committed to the success of this program and we expect to announce exciting opportunities and directives in the near future which will solidify these commitments,” added Miller.
