I dunno. I don't think you're giving the other guys enough credit. Out of the top ten , the total purse $ look like this per group:

World of Outlaws (3 drivers) $1,699,485
High Limit (3 drivers) $1,174,805
Drifters (2 drivers Macri & Timms) $960,783
NASCAR (2 drivers Larson & Day) $628,471

Of the big races, it looks like it's Drifters, WoO, H-L, NASCAR

Of the average $ earned per racer, it's WoO, Drifters, H-L, NASCAR

If there comes another very good Drifter, who's not allied to the other sanctioning bodies, there's a possiblity the Drifters could outdo everybody in the future.

Moral of the story: statistics can be stacked anyway you want them to look. Support sprint car racing and quit tryring to make it an us-or-them thing.

I'm from the midwest, and my "home" track is Knoxville, so I'll just make the observations based on what my eyes see, and not what my heart tells me.   (I'll cover both bases since it was said he was playing dirty pool with the topic name)

1.  California (and the west coast) produces the top 410 drivers on the planet.  Sorry PA, but you're not even in the ballpark.

2.  The WoO is still where the money is.  Will it change?  Not sure.  But It hasn't yet.

The west coast does produce a lot of them. I do allway get a laugh at people comparing entire regions of the country to 10 or 12 counties in the rural part of another state. We can watch up 100 410 raes a year without going 2 hours from home. We also get to watch drivers from other areas more than the fans where they are from.

Huh? What in the hell are you blathering about? I live in Pa and I could give two turds where any of them rank in the country or the Woozers for that matter. Why do you have the need to beat your chest about where who's from where. I just enjoy attending races hoping to see a good race whether it's a local or touring series. I'll say this I don't see many drivers migrating to Cali for the racing.

I may be mistaken but I think I remember him posting recently that he had moved to another area. If that is true I'll bet he is really popular in his new location if he constantly brags about what someone where he lived before has done. It does seem to be an obsession with him.

You are correct. 6 of the 10 listed from end of September results were from California, but left for greener pastures.

I think there's something being overlooked in these stats. At the end of September, 6 of the top 10 listed were from California. OK...

What are there, maybe 200 guys racing sprint cars in California? 6 out of 200 means that 3% of the sprint car racers from California made the list. But 100% of the sprint car racers from Connecticut made the list.Smile

Thats funny.... wink

I've been living in Connecticut the past 8 years & they don't have a single dirt track

I've met Dave, his parents, & been to his family's business (Body shop)

Its boring here, & the weather is awful

Its known as "the Land of Steady Habits"

Oh well....
