It surprises me that there were only 26 cars there. I understand the long week and need to save some equipment, but thought there might be 30 or 35 cars racing.

I have to imagine The Cappy Classic puts a big ol' crimp in folks's plans to run the FRC. I have nothing against the Cappy Classic, but I'd rather have a bigger field for the FRC if I had to choose between the two.
Is this heaven?
No, it's Iowa....Knoxville, Iowa.

Comparing The Cappy to the FRC is silly. No comparison at all. FRC is more of a novelty IMO The Cappy is very prestigious to win.

So, if I'm reading this correctly:
The race where the top 6 speeds in qualifying get inverted out of a transfer starting spot in the heats, and the 24th fastest guy gets the pole and a virtual automatic transfer to the main event is NOT a novelty,
But,
The race that uses the Knoxville points system rewarding being fast on the track at all times IS the novelty?
I guess you can call a foot race a gimmick, but is it any more gimmicky than drawing from a can or spinning a wheel?
