It's a small track, it's a new series so there's excitement , no WoO teams to take up the top spots and big money. I assume you'll get 40-50.

Even Austin McCarl is headed there according to his post race interviews at knoxville. I think you'll see alot of guys there who just want to support the idea.

35 cars, kinda disappointing, kyle and sweet are trying to get more money into sprint car racing, you would think a bigger field than 35 cars.

100 teams just raced Knoxville. Not much of a break and a peculiar first track for the series.

One other logistical issue is the fact that the 44th annual Jackson Nationals starts tomorrow - and it's about 640 miles away. That's quite a haul for teams that want(ed) to do both.

Looks like an All Stars field with a few privateers thrown in for good measure.

Not sure exactly why some thought this event would bring 50 to 60 cars I think 35 is probably about right since woo guys cant run this series and wont be able to next year as well plus like was stated before the jacksonville nationals start Thursday night

He did deal with a tire issue mid race.  Restarted 17th ish and got to 10th.  Top 9 split the $10,000 bounty on Larson.

Highly doubled it with the price of diesel fuel. It was about what I figured. Not even a glorified All Star Show. Not worth 40 bucks. But glad to see some of the non wing guys put wings on and get some money. I'll leave it at that.   Glen Murra

If it wasn't for some of the usac guys bolting top wings on, I don't know what to expect moving forward. I'm excited about what Larson and Sweet are trying to do. Last night, I forget who, but they kick in 500 + for every position in the feature. That's  12 K along with Larson adding 10 K for cars finishing in front of him to split. I wonder how many teams are saying we should have went ? Kudos to the people behind this, it's more money out there for the sprint car guys.

I thought they'd get over 40 with the excitement of the first race enticing some guys who wouldn't normally go but without the USAC guys it would have been a pretty low car count for $22k to win and $1500 to start. Assuming they'll have races in PA and Ohio next year they'll have good car counts.

The USAC guys had to put the wings on.  For $1500 to start thats what they get paid to run 4th with USAC.  Hell, make 12  good laps(2 qualifying and 10 heat) for the night and put it in the show.  Take a few in the A and then park.  Thats a deal if you are them. The saw an opportunity to make a good buck.  Remember its only like $600 to start a USAC show, so they got paid 2.5x normal to start.

It might be a good time to refer to the Late Model version of Race Night in America that spawned the idea for this series.  It's a mid week series designed to give teams another option during the week.  Not scheduling against other series race nights, fueled by streaming money and a better viewing option than what's on during the week.  It's not trying to be marque deal, just provide another option, pay out some extra money and give us the opportunity to watch a race.

I have watched the Late Model version when they're at tracks I think might be entertaining.  They have been around for a couple seasons now.  That's all there is to this so try not to over think it.  Racing was good, show moved along and finished in time to watch a couple episodes of a streaming series I got hooked on.  A good night and I look forward to watching the Larson/Sweet deal next season.  35 is plenty cars for a week night.
