Hell of an opener at Gas City tonight. Ballou feeding right rears to Bacon and Leary, Leary responding with two Daniel-san crane kicks to a strapped in Ballou and then falling on his ass, plus Cottle sniping Grant on a green-white-checkered.

Frenetic start to a long, hot week. Giddyup!

what was up with ballou?  i'm not used to touring regulars be it world of outlaws, usac, or all stars racing like that.  he's usually irrelevant except randomly checking in to win a race or two during the year.  looks like that's a good thing.  bacon was just about off the race track on the high side and it still wasn't enough room for him.  garbage driving and i'm usually not a fan of the physical stuff but ballou had it coming considering he tried to kill two of the biggest stars in usac.

he raced grant aggressive earlier in the race too.  really not a fan of this guy.

on a positive note...i'm excited to see how briggs danner does out there.  hopefully the weather cooperates.  he won a heat and made the show on night 1.

Been there, those guys are more agressive than you are used to seeing around here. Usually irrelevant? Former champion and currently second in season points

great race tonight.  ballou and grant raced clean.  i just started following usac a few years ago with flo so i didn't know ballou won a title.  i'm definitely good with him being up front if he races like that.

Circle City was entertaining with Bacon running the bottom and Leary finally getting him on the late restart running up top,  but tonight was even better. Kokomo is almost always a kick-ass track and tonight was great evidence of that. Great racing between Grant and Ballou. Cummins almost got Grant late, but it was not to be. I was anticipating a massive slider attempt on the last lap, but it was good, clean, hard racing the whole way. Three tracks down and more great racing to go.

Carp, one of the things that I always find amusing about Ballou is how verbose he is in his interviews. He's kinda like the Energizer Bunny in that regard. Plus, you'll won't have to wait long to find out if he's in favor of the night's track conditions or not.

I gotta get out there for the full week sometime. Maybe next year.

I was at Angell Park a little over a month ago and Ballou was there racing a midget.  He won his heat and hammered the track and crew.  They reworked the track before the mains and Ballou won the A.  He did not hesitate to applaud the track crew for the 100% turnaround in track conditions.  He dishes but will give credit when credit is due

That was a terrific race at Kokomo last night, good clean & hard fought. As mentioned, I loved seeing the left front wheels upright and stationary! You don't see that as often anymore.

Doing some couch racing this week while on vacation, man I'm really loving Flo Racing right now.

Its on my bucket list too. Not gonna happen while I'm taking care of Mom tho, unless my seester steps up to the plate

I've been there for some ISW races, but never the whole thing

Usually there's a midweek break, & they wisely spilt it between East & West Indiana

Wingless racing in Indiana is great! (but my Hoosier buddy takes offense at calling them "wingless".. as far as he's concerned, they're SPRINT CARS!)

it looks like t-mez lost his ride.  i won't pretend to know any of the circumstances...but it always surprises me how cut throat things are for drivers.  i guess if a guy like kyle busch with tons of wins and 2 championships at the highest level of stock cars can be on the outside looking in...anybody can.  the hook is even quicker at the lower levels.

it was another great race last night.  brady bacon had some bad luck with the caution after a great move to take the lead.  briggs danner went from 12th to 7th in the feature.  he's the type who probably thinks he should have done better...but he made all the shows when i believe they had over 30 cars every night and over 50 last night.  great showing in my book.

Some of the best wheel to wheel sprint car racing on the planet.  USAC rarely disappoints in my book.  I love winged racing too, but sprint cars, midgets and silver crown are my top viewing choice any night of the week.

T-Mez was in the crowd enjoying the racing.  Any owner who thinks Anton Hernandez at this point in his career is a better choice for his car than T-Mez is a half a bubble off.  Assuming there are outside forces at play here?  This decision can't possibly be based on driver ability.   Who knows, maybe it will be best for everyone.

Thanx,
Bruce

I went out for Winchester and the first 5 dirt races.

Great times out there love sprint cars with no mufflers in there natural form.

Good car counts every night just wish the rains were a little less.

Still worth the trip and next year I think im going to do the whole speedweek.

TMEZ was in Yelley 2 car all week with mortor problems ect.

Kyle Cummings gave it a run in the 2 last night and had to come out of the c main and failed to make main.

Not a midget, but full sized sprint car.

T-Mez quit the ride in the 2 car not the other way around. He got a much better ride for the last night and was in the top 5 I think and got in a tangle and dropped out. Hopefully we see him in competetive cars the remainder of the season!

If T-Mez quit the 2 car as you say then why did he post on Twitter that when he arrived at the track Jack was taking his seat out of the car? I would have thought that if he quit for another ride then he wouldn't have missed a race.

You are correct.  Yeley fired him (he found out when they were putting Hernandez' seat in the car).  Then they fired Hernandez between the first qualifying session and the second (first qual session got through most of the cars but they had to start over because of rain) then had Cummins in the car.  Cummins didn't get out of the B in the Yeley car then won the next night in another car.  I don't remember if there was a 4th driver after Cummins, but 3 drivers in less than 24 hours is worse than Roth.
