I saw this morning that some of the Outlaws (Including Larson) rented Knoxville for some test & tune.  The WoO schedule shows that this Saturday at Joliet is cancelled for some reason. Could be interesting at Knoxville this weekend!

The practice has been planned for a while now so I wouldn't take that as an indicator of who will be there, however Nascar is running this weekend not too far from Iowa.

Went back and checked the schedule press release to confirm - there was never a sprint show scheduled for Joliet for June 4, thinking this was one of the WoO LMs races canceled? That'd be quite the three day jaunt for teams - Grand Forks to Chicago to Sioux Falls.

As stands, it seems like a grueling trip - looks like if a team wanted to do it, they'd have a 9-hour trip from River Cities to Knoxville after Friday night's WoO show, then another five hour trip from Knoxville to Husets between Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. Not impossible and I normally wouldn't be shocked to see a handful of teams try it, but with diesel where it's at and potential equipment shortages (tires primarily) I don't know if any will this weekend.

Mark Dobmeier used to run that schedule every weekend.

If Husets would have cancelled the Sunday show, you'd have seen a ton of them at Knoxville Saturday. As it is, no one will be making the 10 hour trip from Grand Forks to Knoxville only to go 5 hours back to Husets.

Don't be suprised if some do show up since Johnny Gibson will be there for his induction.

Good point, I didn't think about that.

Tony Stewart is being inducted also. Unfortunately, the weather forecast for Knoxville is iffy for Saturday evening, hope it's wrong.

I dont think any of them are allowed to do this as the Outlaws have the "24 Hour Rule" in place.

Exactly what I was going to point out.  Team 13 did this weekend "commute" for 6 years straight, so it not only can be done once - but it can be done every weekend for multiple years.  They typically would get back to Grand Forks around 4am Monday morning, then be up by 7am to go to start their normal work week.

I doubt you see anyone replicating what Mark did anymore - at least those that don't do it as a career - or to match the level of success he had while doing that grueling schedule.  Impressive to say the least.

Well, maybe. The 24 hour seems to have some bend to it, if it's a track that plays well with the WoO, and sometimes if it's a favorite son.

It's not that they can't, but they have to request and receive permission.
