BAPS Motor Speedway will host the last winged 410 Sprint Car race in the United States Sprint this Saturday, when the Sprint Showdown takes place at 3 p.m.  If you can't make it to the track, you can catch the action at www.sprintcarunlimited.tv.

It should be a pretty good field. Here are some of the drivers who have confirmed that they will be racing for the $5,000 top prize. The 358 Modifieds will also be on the program.

Anthony Macri, Brent Marks, Devon Borden, Danny Dietrich, Justin Peck, Freddie Rahmer, Lucas Wolfe, Ryan Smith, Kyle Reinhardt, Matt Campbell, Tyler Ross, and others are slated to attend. As of now, there are 34 confirmed cars in the Sprint Car division.

They will be joined by some of the best 358 Modified drivers in the region, including Billy Pauch Jr., Jeff Strunk, Tanner Vandoren, Dominick Buffalino, Michael Maresca, and more.

Was going to order until I saw the price. 31.99 for a 5G to win race, seriously? That's the highest I've ever seen for a ppv event.

I find it interesting that the LMs have 2 $50k to win shows this weekend, one of which is in the LM hotbed of Las Vegas (sarcasm), but sprint cars have the opportunity to run for $5k in an actual hotbed of sprint car racing for a race that used to pay $10k. And they still charge $31.99 for the PPV.

I agree 31.99 is ridiclous!  Late model big money to win races far outnumber big paying sprint car races probably by the count of 100 to 10!

I guess Sprint Car Unlimited really needs to charge more due to the fact they can't get the big tracks like Flo and Dirt Vision does. I've never watched nor do I care to watch their service or pay for their news.  I would never pay that much to watch that race but I guess some people do.

I wouldn't pay a penny for anything Sprint Car Unlimited tries to sell.

I find it sad that the race only pays 5 grand instead of the 10 it used to pay. 30 dollars admission instead of 20 or 25. Its a matter of it being the last race and who wants to see it, I used to be a die hard but the weather and the mortifieds and the admission price made me stay home and prepare firewood. Haven't been to Susky all year can't say I miss the place or its promoters/owners. I also wouldn't pay anything for sprintcar unlimited.

I don't have anything against Sprintcarunlimited and have subscribed there in the past and will in the future. Also it's not their fault for the price as that is likely set by the promoters. I just hate the lack of imagination and risk taking. You literally have LM promoters risking their ass by paying gigantic purse in the middle of November (granted seemingly living or dying by the back gate) while we have promoters raising ticket prices and lowering purses in a sprint car hotbed. And adding divisions that it's not clear anyone wants to see.

Sprintcarunlimited sets the ppv price. Reportedly they have some type of profit share agreement with the track with any ppv they provide is priced at $1.99 over gate price. In theory i get what they are doing but in actual application it doesn't fly with me.  I can't bring myself to pay this price which is about 1/5 of the cost of a full year of Flo. If you break it down to a per race cost with any other provider Sprintcarunlimiteds price becomes simply insane. Yes you are getting to see a race that you otherwise may not be able to see but they also must remember that there is no way they can duplicate the experience of being there. Nothing like the sounds, smells and excitement of being there. Plus I must watch what they show. If I were there I may zero in on a battle they aren't showing much of. I simply don't see it being worth the price the charged so I never purchase. Nobody is getting that kind of money out of me per race unless I'm there to see it in person.

We will agree to disagree....The Sprint Car Unlimited website is worth every penny in my opinion. At $45 a year it is a bargain for all the content. Jeremy does a great job with his race coverage not only in Central Pa, but throughout the country. The weekly podcast with Ryan Hand is worth the subscription....that being said, I agree the price of the BAPS PPV seemed high for a $5000 to win race, but that was more on BAPS than Jeremy. He charges $1.99 over the admission price that the promotors set. BAPS has done a pretty good job at setting affordable addmission prices throughout the year, but this seemed excessive, considering it was not a sanctioned race. $20 to $25 would have been fair with a PPV price of $21.99 or $26.99.

Fair point that it's $1.99 over the ticket price, but the ticket price is set by the track.

Agreed ticket price is set by track. I just think their model of $1.99 over gate price is too much. Way too much in fact.  I believe Baps had a promotion a few weeks ago that advanced tickets were half price ($15). I forget how long that ran but then at the gate admission was $30. It wouldn't matter to me if they worked off the $15 price for the ppv price and added the $1.99 I still think it's too much.  I'm spoiled by the other subscription services  like Flo and Dirtvision where each race averages out to about a buck or two a race. You can't unring that bell and convince people like me to pay that kind of money per race. I won't buy it simply based on principle.

I appreciate all the feedback and comments. To clear some of the misconceptions up. We do not set the price. Our model is $1.99 more than the gate price at the races we have. The biggest reason for this is because we revenue share directly with the track so they get what they deserve based on numbers. Also, we want people to go to the track to support the venue ... in both cases, if the tracks don't maximize their earning's potential, they won't be here.

As for the price of the show itself, the Modifieds — a popular division in the Northeast — were added to this program. That is like having two headline divisions. Don't be surprised if this event continues to grow in regard to payout.

As long as they have the modifieds, I will not watch or go to this show. I don't like modified racing at all!

Let's go Sprint Car Racing!

Knoxville - Best Track In the USA!
Eldora - 2nd Best Track in the USA!

Thanks for the reply.

I just wonder how many fans the mods bring to a Central PA track. I assume the back gate is good and maybe people from NY/NJ are more likely to buy the show, but I have to wonder given it's the last show of the year, and given the streaming money is likely decent, whether it's better to put all the mod purse money into the 410 purse, pay $15-20k to win and advertise the crap out of it. I would think your streaming revenue would be better as there would be alot of interest from across the US given it would be the last show of the year and the purse would get people's attention.

I'm only one person, but I know I've never been to this particular show or watched it on PPV because it is right in the middle of prime bow season here in PA. Unless I've already gotten my buck, I'll be out in the treestand.

Again, I'm only one person, but there's probably more of us out there considering there's quite an overlap of people who hunt and people who watch sprint car racing.
