it's getting towards the end of the year.  Havn't really heard much regarding silly season so here's some things I have noticed.  Maybe right, maybe wrong.

1. Gio and the 18 car now have a new crew-chief.  Dylan Buswell took over and came out of the box hot by crewing the 18 car to it's first WoO win in a long time.  Apparently Bernie is no longer with the team.  Will Buswell's recent past be brought up if the 18 car gets hot?

2. Shark racing unveiled a new sponsor this past week.  Well, at least 2/3 of Shark racing anyways.  Logan Schuchart and Bobby Allen made statements and Logan was displayed with owner Jake Miller of L & M tire and wheel in the press release.  No Jacob Allen in sight nor a word heard from him.  My hunch is that Drydene is going away next year and Jacob will not be on the road full time anymore.  The Shark racing team has pandered strongly towards Logan for the past year and with Bill K. now being somewhat related to him, I am guessing all of the marketing is being shuffled Logan's way.  I say look for Jacob to run a PA, true outlaw or All Star schedule next year, depending on what they can afford.

3. Micro-lite has been brought on as a sponsor of the WoO dash.  Formerly known as the Fast-pass dash, it was referred to as the Micro-lite dash this past weekend at Lakeside speedway.  Got me wondering if they are looking for a new title sponsor also as I have heard Drydene may be leaving motorsports after this year.  Is Micro-lite being catered towards possible title sponsorship?

4. If I were a guessing person, I would bet that Tyler Courtney will be a full time WoO member next year?  I think he was smart by running his first full year as a primarlily winged driver with the All Stars.  He had a great season and won the title and rookie of the year.  He has proven to me that he is ready to make the jump.  If the funding is there, I'd say look for Sunshine as a full time WoO member next year.

5. Dominic Selzi and 2nd year crew-chief Jimmy Carr have pretty much owned the West Coast this year in both 360 and 410 ranks.  It would sure be fun to see them hit the road again now that they have figured out how to work with each other so well.  Add the fact that Dominic has such a polarizing personality and I think he would be an awesome rookie of the year candidate on either the All-Star or WoO circuit.

5.  Buddy Kofoid is the real deal.  Be it a midget, non-wing or winged car.  He is going to be a great one.  Hope we don't lose him to the pavement jockeys.

6.  Does anyone know what happened to the 2 McCarl boys at the Trophy Cup?  I didn't see their names in the Saturday results at all.  I thought they were driving identical Country Builders cars?  What will their plans be for next year?  Also, was it ever revealed why Austin didn't finish his stint in the Tarlton ride this past year?

7. I have heard some rumblings from a few different directions regarding the Chili Bowl purse and more over, the cost of tickets for spectators this year.  Apparently they jacked the ticket prices last year due to a limited amount of fans allowed in the building due to the pandemic and told everyone it was a 1 year thing only.  Then they left the ticket price jacked for everyone this year.  Not long after these discussions, Emmett Hahn announces he has sold the ASCS and now will focus only on the Tulsa Shoot-out and the Chili bowl.  It seems quite apparent to me that Mr. Hahn is making a HUGE amount of money at these 2 events and is now making more with increased ticket prices.  I'd say it's time to raise the purse Mr. Hahn.  The natives are getting restless.  Also, if he wants this to be a premier show, which it is, pay the guys!

I have more I will talk about later, but wanted to toss out a few of my thoughts.  Please remember anything in my notes is NOT confirmed, but simply my thoughts.  Also, to the grammar and spelling police.  I apologize for anything in advance.  These random thoughts are not meant to start any wars but some interesting topics.  Fire away folks.

Ryan Timms and Aaron Reutzle will make a lot of noise,  Wayne Johnson maybe cracks the top ten in points at Knoxville and the 88 team tried to make two cars out of one and about burned up Austin... hope he is okay!

Jacob not selling shirts out of the Shark racing trailer always seems odd to me, regardless of whether they had a good reason. It makes sense for them to go to a 1 car team next year. They have historically had more maintenance issues than the other top teams and concentrating on one car would probably solve some of that.

The DirtVision Fast Pass Dash was re-branded the Micro-Lite Dash for Lakeside only.  Micro-Lite will remain the Last Chance Showdown sponsor. Micro-Lite's parent company is based in Kansas City, and there was a large contingent taking in their first ever sprint car race at Lakeside.  There was some concern early on about car count and whether on not a last chance showdown would be necessary, so Micro-Lite and DirtVision "swapped" for the night.

any idea what zeb wise is doing next year?  i root for him because i saw him win a midget race at kutztown...but it seems like he tears up a lot of race cars.  hopefully these were growing pains and he can improve in the future.

I don't know anything about Jacob Allen's wishes or what Shark team can afford, but Jacob would be an instant contender with the Posse. He finally won a WoO race after many close calls.... when was the last time Kinser or Jason Sides won? There are plenty of great racers who've never beat the Outlaws.... Brian Monteith dominated at Lincoln & never beat the Outlaws

When a WoO driver refuses to run a race it's time for him to go home. He'll get his ass kicked in PA also. As far as the other drivers you mentioned,  one runs on his last name and I have no idea how the other one does it. None of my business...I'm ready for a new Season with less rain in PA.

I look for Gio Scelzi, Spencer Bayston, and Tyler Courtney to compete for the ROY next year. Does anybody know if Reutzel's new ride will contend with the World of Outlaws?

Reutzel will not be a fulltime WoO driver next year.  They have a full schedule but it will be Knoxville and all big shows.  Anything that has big money they will be there is what I am hearing.

Interesting topics.  Not much to add except for #7 about the Chili Bowl

Supply and demand dictate both.  Would it be nice if tickets stayed cheap and the event paid $1,000,000?  Sure.  Is there any reason they should?  Not really.  There's a waiting list for tickets.  Anyone with a marketing degree can tell you the ticket prices are too low if this is the case.  There were 360 cars signed in for last year's Chili Bowl.  Anyone with a marketing degree would tell you the purse is perfect.  As far as Emmett Hahn making too much money?  He's got a sold out week-long show, live on MAVTV.  If it's too much money, and so easy to do, we should all start our own middle-of-winter Midget race that pays $1 million to win and tickets are $1.

From a business standpoint, no reason to change a thing.

Every single one of us could do what we do for less money------so I guess that makes us all greedy.  I, for one, go out every day and make the most of my working years.  I've taken better opportunities, when I could have stayed where I was at and helped the little guy by making less.  I don't consider myself greedy at all.  Living the American dream of capitalism.  When the seats don't fill, he should lower the ticket price.  When the cars don't show up, he should up the purse.

Jacob, posted the 2022 WoO schedule on his Facebook page. Is he just doing PR for them or is he planning on continuing with Shark Racing like every other year? Smile

Realistically 6 drivers will win 90%+ of the races. The ROY will have 3 talented drivers.McFadden probably would have won it anyway if He had ran all season. At least 6 drivers that are commited to WOO will not win a race and running for $1000 to make A plus tow money  at most of the shows that pay $10K to win makes it hard to continue on T-shirt and sponsor money alone with the traveling. Not really any advantage with three motor choices. The All Stars have been a good show but if any of the top 6 in WOO points would commit to that series that would be a front runner. As in past the top 4 crew cheifs will prove that they can make a difference. For the sake of all racing we need  drivers that have personalities and make it interesting. Kyle Larson did more to help NASCAR than any driver this year. I know some would rather He not win the big races but when He doesnt win you know the best that night won. All the hype and driver fueds in Nascar are basically for ratings as some are overpaid actors and not one punch would hurt much.Just my opinion!
