After 3 straight runner-up finishes at the Nats in '12, '13, and '14, Brownie was a non-factor from '15-'19.  It seems as soon as uncle Dude started making the calls a couple of weeks ago a switch was flipped.  Threat to win the Nationals this year or no?  Let the debate begin

In all seriousness, he'll be a threat to make the show on his qualifying night and is probably a candidate for top 10. But I just can't see him outracing Larson, Sweet, Gravel, Macedo, Sheldon and TSR. Strange things happen in Sprint car racing, but usually not at Knoxville. The cream usually always rises there.

Lots of factors with the Nationals format.Qualifing and being able to pass cars in the heat and a lttle luck doesnt hurt. Danny coming on board will help but there are some real wizards that call the shots on the top cars. Personally I think some of the favorites take more chances than Brown but wish them all the best. When Danny was in TSR car I think Jimmy Carr helped make the calls I would like to see someone win it that really could use the cash.

I could really use the cash.  Would you please hook me up with a top-level ride with a great crew chief and cover all of my expenses?  Smile

Win the nationals? Possible but not likely. Wasn't even convinced he was the quickest regular this past Saturday he just started the front row.

I think if he had the fastest car on the property that week he still wouldn't win it. Brian's issues are under his flatbrim.

if he is in contention or leading, his iq will drop suddenly and he will drive over the cushion and get passed.

I agree with you.  I just wanted to ask the question.  I wanted to know where everyone felt Brownie stands now with uncle Danny in his corner.  I think he will be better than he's been, but I don't see him beating the guys you listed.  Maybe some of them, but not all.

More a possability than a threat... but even being a possability is pretty cool.

Turn 2. Seems like when it's all on the line he messes up turn 2 and ruins his chance.

Would love to see Brownie win it. He's looking good right now but is going to need a little luck on his side as well.

I would like to see any of our local runners get the W.  Brownie probably has the best chance, Justin Henderson has looked bad fast the last few weeks.

Kerry Madsen, If he could get 3 consistantly good nights, I could see him as a threat in TS car.

My gut tells me though when the Checkers fly on August 14th, it's likely going to be one of the Travelling NOS guys... And to narrow it down even more, Probably the #49 NOS guy  Smile

I would put the #49 as ONE of the favorites----probably the 2nd best odds.  If I'm setting odds in Vegas for this race, judging by Larson's record at Knoxville in 2020, how could he not be the overwhelming favorite?  4 for 5 with the WoO (and a second) and was it 2 for 2 with the All Stars?  The field he beat in August last year was basically the National's field with the D and E mains trimmed off.

I concur about Larson, Actually I kinda forgot that he was entered! Still who-ever wins it is going to need a little luck on their side as well as bad ass racing talent. Can't wait.

At least my daughter was excited the Casey's car won. Still made my night seeing her happy about that! Smile

Macedo wins it is my assumption. Something about that 41 car around Knoxville. I was thinking maybe it was Logan's turn but less certain of that now. Sweet would be the Vegas odds favorite to win just hoping it doesn't happen. Smile

I'd put Larson as the favorite, because he's Larson. But I'm not sure he's the overwhelming favorite. The 57 hasn't run as much and he seems a bit behind the 8 ball in time trials this year. Even at Eldora, he wasn't fast until the A Main.

I think Macedo has a good shot at it, kind of how Gravel was a favorite going into 2019 and it all fell together for him.
