I was wondering if Brent marks is doing better Against The Outlaws than he did when he was an outlaw? Any comments as to why? Also I noticed they had 18 or 19 cars in the b-main but didn't have a c main. Why would they do that?

Even though I may not know you, I

Not 100 percent sure....I think the would need to have at least 48 cars to have a c main.

They kept the show moving and I'm glad they didn't run a C main or two B mains.

There's a big difference between running with the WoO full time and running with the WoO only on your best tracks. I believe Marks had Outlaw wins at Eldora and the Grove when he was a full time regular and he has a ton of laps at Lincoln. Having said that, he's finally taken the next step and able to overcome his lousy qualifying efforts. If he ever learns to qualify he's going to be a big star.

I agree with you..I don't like the half mile tracks and like more smaller 3/8 tracks..3/8 on outside..Half milers are follow leader and boring..Sure glad there was no fillers tonight..

Track was much better on Friday than tonight for the feature.  The last 10 laps the leaders couldn't pass a lap car.  In the first 20 laps Dewease came from 10th to 3rd.  Track prep is everything when you have a two day show. When you have to be careful in time trials you know you are not going to have a good feature.

Tremendous night of racing, follow the leader, only passing on starts and restarts, rubber down for the last 10 laps. I mean if you didn't like that racing, there's something wrong with you.

Dewease was coming. Unfortunately he needed the bottom, especially getting into 3. Running the middle he used up the RR. Lost a spot there at the end. I like the tandem announcing job, 2 pro's, nice job. Shatz was awful last night, the 72 and Tim Schaffer won't make it till seasons end. Car looked terrible, Schaffer had his hands full. Let's hope the 24 car has patience, he can't be happy with the performance of his team right about now.

The dash and rubber down were the race. Both announcers together were excellent. When the lappers become the same speed as the leaders and there is basically one fast lane the race is over. Still entertaining but no passing late.

In Bruce's defense, when Lance is within 6 or 7 car lengths going into turn 3 at Williams Grove, he is "right there". His turn 3 sliders from downtown Dillsburg are his finishing move and many of his 99 wins (soon to be 100) came as a result of that move. No one on earth is better in turn 3 than Lance. I was very impress that Carson knew what to do to take that move away and hold on to the win on Friday night. He drove a hell of a race.

Well it looks like there are currently only 3 posse cars anywhere near competitive with the current WOOS and even the ASCOC front runners. It has to be more than horsepower took so weak on you home track. 28 and 51 come to mind,  plus 72 and 21.

The All Stars got one top 5 at both Williams Grove and Port the last visit. The Posse even beat them at Bedford. I wouldn't exactly put them In the WoOs league, especially now that Reutzel is no longer with them.

You're right fixx.  One of the best, if not the best, of Lance's moves was the one he put on Sammy. I think it was the B of the 2013 National Open. I can't find the video though to confirm the specific race.

Brad Doty was one of the commentators and he couldn't believe the move.

JMO, & all track prep aside, but I still think one of the biggest thing that hurts racing on 1/2 mile tracks, especially at Williams Grove, is the flat top wings used now, as opposed to the dished wings of the past.

When in doubt, gas it!!

Williams Grove gives half miles a bad name. Knoxville is of course 100 times better, but so is Port. Heck, Bristol had more action than the Grove. It's not "half miles", it's the Grove.

I am not trying to be facetious but please help me understand the attraction of the World of Outlaws at Williams Grove.  Personally, I have attended at least (25) events with the WOO at the Grove and have yet to see anything resembling an exciting race.  The time trials are drawn out with the pushing of the cars between the two pits, heat races with no passing, single file dash and less than stellar C/B mains.  The features are downright boring after the second lap.  I just look at the stands at every WOO event at the Grove and they are jammed pack with spectators, with so many new faces from the normal Friday night crowd.  It’s just hard for me to understand that the new fans of the sport walk away wanting to go back for the following week to see another race.  I am truly a diehard fan of sprint car racing and kills me to see that on the one of the World’s biggest stages of racing and the entertainment factor seems to always fall flat.

There are just too many smart folks out there that have ton more experience and expertise of how to make the racing more completive. The World of Outlaws are a huge part of why Williams Grove has been successful for over 82 years. I just wish there was a way to figure this out.

Knoxville is the best 1/2 mile in the country nothing else is even close to them.

Sad but true...

Posse was way more competitive when Freddy Rahmer Sr. & Greg Hodnett were racing

Its kind of like the Super Bowl.... reputation & hype

I was there both nights, racing pretty dull, but I realized that I like the spectacle of it all

Strange how Winged Strawser always whines about Port, but not The Grove

Port has had better racing every time I've been the last few years

Guy next to me was complaining about all the Larson fans... seemed like there were almost as many Larson t-shirts as DeWease ones

Ain't what it used to be...

It's not half miles that suck for racing it's Grove that sucks for racing.  Eldora just last weekend. Friday portion of the program Ruetzel 16th to 2nd; Schatz 17th to 3rd.   Saturday Schuhardt 21st to 2nd; Price-Miller 23rd to 10th.
