Hopefully the shootout follows the rules. The Tulsa health department will be watching closely.

The problem isn't going to be whether or not the promoters try to follow the rules.   The problem will be a certain percentage of race fans that won't.

Should be interesting. There was a big BMX show at the end of November there and every 5 mins the announcers were over the loudspeaker telling people to put their masks on. They were also announcing city officials were there walking around and threatening to shut the place down if people weren't wearing them. Mask-wearers were encouraged to let non-mask-wearers know the rules as well. Non-compliant? You could be escorted out by security.

So yeah, I don't know if the BMX group were extra strict, but I doubt Tulsa officials will let up any this time around.

Lucky for you we live in America. You can take all your knowledge, skills, and money to create your own Chilibowl event. Imagine the perfect event you will create. We're all waiting for you to impress us with what you're going to do and how you're going to do it.

That is unless you're all mouth and couldn't create an event in your families sand box much less the real world that most of us have to live and work in.

If everyone who can't follow the rules would just stay home, as you are doing, there would be no problem.  The issue will be those that can't help themselves.  I live in the state of Illinois and there has been NOTHING for sports at any level for spectators.  Nothing.  My son wants to play high-school football, basketball, and baseball.  We would literally do anything for this to happen----masks for athletes, masks for coaches and officials, and limited attendance would be fine-----just let them play.  All players and coaches and most of the fans agree.

All of the thick-headed "fans" that do show up in Tusla, keep that in mind.  Don't take for granted that you have the opportunity to see these races.  You can pound your chest all you want that the government "doesn't have the right" or doesn't have "the legal authority" to shut you down.  You will be standing there thinking that while the event is being shut down.  You have the opportunity to ruin it for the drivers and those in attendance that want this event to happen.  I am not in favor of these mass-shutdowns at all.  I hate what it's doing to our economy and our small businesses.  I think we are way past the point of needing these tight mitigations.  However, at this point, I would do anything to see my son play sports before he loses the opportunity----like my daughter did last spring.  All everyone has to do is follow the damned rules for one Tulsa Shootout and one Chili Bowl.

An emergency meeting on xmas eve. Really. Was the emergency just for the chilibowl? Couldnt discuss things or let the chilibowl know the importance of wearing masks any other day before or after? Looked on thier website and it said everything was closed christmas eve in observence of Christmas. Chilibowl summited thier covid plan sometime ago. This seems odd.

Anyhow seen the shootout move in set up day clip and all had masks. So far so good.

I don't have the time or money to go to the Chilli Bowl but if I did I would wear a mask. I'm not a big mask fan at all but I wear them some places so I don't offend others or have people start conflicts with me. Some of my occupations have required PPE including masks, I don't have an issue wearing them. I hope the races go on as scheduled and people behave themselves. If caught without a mask,  one warning then out the exit door or possibly no warnings. You know the rules when you get there.

In the past, due to the fumes and dust, I wore a resperator most of the time anyway.  I bet this year, because all will be required to wear one at all times, there will be far fewer cases of the "Chili Bowl Flue".  Now, that's something to look forward to.

I can't believe the pit in my stomach right now seeing the track , and knowing I won't be in that building next weekend after 7 in a row.

I wear a mask all day everyday at work.Lucky to be able to work and keep 22 people employed in california is tuff.

Temp 2 times a day and washing hands every couple hour while in building seems to be keeping people here safe.

I hope we can at least see the races run , and those lucky enough to be there remember we are counting on you.

Please be safe the new strain was found in Colorado yesterday , so it's going to be there too.

good luck.

Limited capacity allowed, restrictions make it easier to stay home and not deal with the crap, it's early in the day for just the Shootout, take your pick.

It does look like everyone including officials and media are wearing a mask so far.

The only thing that the health dept might bitch about is the drivers keeping their head sock on that only cover the mouth and not the nose during interviews.   (I realize that this most likely perfectly safe,  but everything surrounding this ordeal is goofy and subject to personal interpretation)  .

Because masks have shown to help by the drastic drop in positive cases since this manufactured virus started.
