Just seen the schedule for the Kutztown fairgrounds and see on June 13th they have a winged 410 race, I thought the usac midgets were a little overkill here but now this, along with a 360 wingless race on July 7th, I mean I'll be there cause I need to see how this is going to play out

Surely they're going to make the track bigger and invest in some MUCH more substantial fencing before hosting this event. The track as it is right now isn't suited at all for full size sprints. Especially 410's.

I can't believe the 410's will be there.

When I scale the track out on Google maps- wow! 410's racing there would be like doing donuts in a parking lot.

I admire the promoter's cumption, but the track will definetely need improved catch fencing for both the scheduled 410 sprint cars and USAC wingless sprint cars. The race will either be one of the most incredible we've ever seen and a home run for being innovative............. or a crash fest. Time will tell?

Just for fun- measuring the track as it's depicted on Google Earth- bottom runners would be racing about 718 feet (about 1/8 mile) per lap. Rim riders would be racing 960 feet (about 1/5 mile) per lap. At 90mph average speed, they'd be doing laps at about 7 seconds.

The entire track would fit inside the field track at your local high school.

Years ago I recall reading about a track in the 70's near The Minneapolis area that was a 1/5 mile dirt circle. It was at maybe Doland or Doltan? Stan- does that ring a bell with you at all?

I checked their website and on the 2021 schedule I see one 410 event on 6/13/2021

www.actiontrackusa.com

I'm prettysure that the other Doug Rose promoted track, Bridgeport Speedway in NJ has added one 410 race on 4/6/2021.

Any California people remember Grass Valley?  Dont know the exact size of that track but was some entertaining racing.  Sorry not trying to sidetrack original post.

Macon in il. is a 1/5 mile.  We ran a 6.90 gear, the one time there.  It wasn't enough but was the most we had.

Yes, I  remember Grass Valley (Ernie Purcell speedway) and it was a small track. Merced is also a small 1/5 mile track that produces good racing!

Looking forward to the new Golden State King of the
West series schedule!

Never been to the Kutztown track but have seen video of their weekly micro racing, I'm tellin ya, the flag man has to have a sore arm after those nights, yelllow flag every 2 or 3 laps. I've been to Lanco and Lindas micro tracks and just can't imagine sprints there so I doubt Kutztown would be better. On the good side, I don't think you would need a 410 engine to be competitive just a bunch of crash parts.
