If he goes back to NASCAR I will miss him on the dirt, but will still not watch Nascar.

Kyle has always been a show in NASCAR and passes more cars in NASCAR then practically everyone else.

Here is my question, who thinks he has passed more cars in the past 2 months then he did the past 2 seasons in NASCAR?

If you count slide jobs that didn't count at the start / finish line it might be the past 3 seasons in NASCAR.

Kind of hard to compare the two.   Chevrolet teams were clearly behind the curve the last couple of years anyway.   The Ford and Toyota teams were much better.   Larson did well to run up front when he could.   Only recently have Chevrolet teams started closing the gap.   The other thing about NASCAR is that in a 500 mile race you probably wind up passing any car several times in the same event, so there's really no comparing the two.   I don't even bother to find out where NASCAR is racing on Sunday afternoon now.   I've been watching other things and don't plan to watch NASCAR if Larson goes back either.    I'm actually hoping he doesn't...

If you count lapped cars, a ton. If you‘re counting just passes for position, probably not as many as you would think. He‘s made the redraw most every night for the past 2 months. Say on average, he starts 4th in the A mains, he‘s only passing 4 cars a race.

Napcar is so bad right now that race last night was lame the flat tracks after were great.

Lincoln was a good show track was in good shape again winning from pole isn't fun to watch... thats the outlaws.

Kraig Kinser missed another main ouch.

No Kyle wonder when/where he will race next?

Considering he was in the Ganassi shitbox 42, probably more in his sprint car.

If Larson does go back to NASCAR he will be driving for Stewart Haas, and Tony will let him drive sprints whenever possible.  I believe Larson will still run between 80 and 100 nights a year in sprints/midgets while driving for Tony.

I hope Larson goes back to NASCAR.  It will be good for both sports.  NASCAR needs drivers like him, and sprints needs as much of the NASCAR money and exposure they can get.  Whether you like NASCAR or bitch and moan about it all the time, you should be rooting for Larson to get back soon.

I watched WoO at WG & Indiana Sprint Week at Gas City last nite....not as exciting without Larson

Everybody needs a rest I guess

Why does it have to be Sprint Cars or NASCAR for so damn many Sprint Car fans.  I don't like operas so I don't go to them and don't bitch about them.  Why is everyone so eager to bash NASCAR every chance they get?  Does that somehow prove that were a better Sprint Car fan?

Before I get thrown into the pile and beat up along with NASCAR I'm only a casual fan but I recognize the influence of NASCAR on other forms of racing.  Money is tricking down to Sprint Car racing and the masses consider NASCAR synonymous with auto racing ie to them NASCAR is racing.  It sounds odd when Sprint fans bash a type of racing that has helped Sprint Car racing so much.  I don't get it.

I read that car owner Paul Silva wanted to take a weekend off as he hadn't seen his kid in a few months since they've been on the road non-stop.  Well deserved off weekend, and left some money on the table for everyone else   ;-)

Huset's has been advertising that Larson will be running at the All Stars show on Aug 2nd so it's probably quite likely that he will also be at the All Stars show at Knoxville on Aug 1st

Just so I have this straight.  You don't watch NASCAR and don't plan on watching it?  Then you say he's always been a show in NASCAR and passes more cars than practically everyone else?  If you don't watch NASCAR how can you say that or even form that opinion?  If you don't watch NASCAR or have any desire to, why do you even talk about it?  Sorry not trying to be rude it's just a pet peeve of mine.

I wouldn't consider myself a diehard NASCAR fan but I do watch (even though a nap might interupt it)).  I'm sure I'll get roasted for this but Kyle Larson in NASCAR hasn't been that impressive to me.  He's definitely talented, I'm not saying he's not but lately it seems he's been built up into a god when he just wasn't that good in NASCAR.  From what I remember of his NASCAR career, I believe he started in 2014, I think it took him a few years to win a race, one year (2017 or 2018 maybe?) he was 2nd in points most of the year until the chase started he fizzled out, and since that year I'm not even sure he won a race? His biggest highlight since that year was Kyle Busch spinning him out after he ran into him to get by him that I know of.  Other than that, he's been a mid pack car.  That's just from memory and I certainly could've missed some stuff but it's not like I'm missing him being in NASCAR, I didn't see much of him before.  Now to be fair, his teammates haven't seemed to outperform him, other than Kurt Busch won a race last year, Matt Kenseth who is a NASCAR champion (though well past his prime) hasn't done any better than Larson, Chip Ganassi Racing has been mostly a mid pack team in it's existence other than a few good years here and there, Chevy has struggled since they started using the Camaro.  But for a guy that was compared to Jeff Gordon, he has fell well short of his accomplishments.  After Jeff Gordon ran 6 full time seasons he had won 3 championships and a ton of races and was considered to be one of the top 2 or 3 drivers of the series.  I realize it's more competitive now than it ever has been but drivers like Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick and Brad Keselowski always seem to be competitive no matter how bad the rest of their team or car brand is performing, they seem to elevate everything.  I don't see that with Kyle Larson.

Also don't get me wrong, there are tons of people (myself included) who would love to be a mid pack NASCAR driver, that's not a terrible thing.

I pretty much agree (except about wanting to drive NASCAR)

He's a master of dirt tracks, probably somewhat above average on pavement

I know its an exaggerated comparison, but its kinda like Michael jordan playing baseball (Kyle is a MUCH better NASCAR driver than Jordan in baseball!)

Do what you're good at

Oh wait, there's that $$$ thing... wink

At least with Kyle's schedule he isnt ruining anyones points race. He would obviously be a contender in any series if he stayed in a series. He is scraping off the top money at most events so those running for 2nd and considering it a personal win arent getting  the finances desired to move along but in the end the points races in each sanction should have the same top 10 guys as a season without kyle invading. Just every one has 2 less points per race. Sounds fair, just much less profitable.

That was my prediction as well, a week after the incident. Then the George Floyd deal hit, and that pretty much put a nail in the coffin of him getting back into Nascar anytime soon. Moving him back even next year, although debatedly unfair, would draw way too much scrutiny in this country at that point. There isnt a company in this country right now, that would have the capital to invest in sponsorship at that level, that would get anywhere near him in the current climate. My guess is 3-5 years as long as no other high profile racial incidents occur. I am sure Stewart would love it, but it would be business and marketing suicide at this point.

Ruining anyone's points race? I don't think it would be anything like that at all. If he wins, he isn't taking points away from any *one*, he's taking points away from every *one*. The traveling series have all kinds of local and outlaws racing in their races and affecting the points outcomes a little.  That's why their points systems are set up to favor those who are consistent competing in their series.
