For a non-wing fan it's disappointing to not see a non-wing car hit the track until after all the wing hot laps and qualifying get completed. I thought this was supposed to be the non-wing nationals??

They're paying your division 4 times what they normally pay to win at a track that is 9 hours from the hotbed of the division. They have the audacity to run their regular divisions to attract more fans and back gate to pay the purse and you complain.

No one else is paying Usac sprints nearly what Knoxville has put up (in the middle of a pandemic no less).

On any other night that is the place of honor. The premier division at Knoxville comes out last. Why you complaining???

Knoxville is scared shitless of nonwing cars...The nonwing cars always get a used up track when they race there.

Well, I can't comment on how the races went at K'ville.  I passed on tagging along with my son and nephew to K'ville for the two nights thinking I'd watch at home.  Surely with subscriptions that include Dirtvision that covers all the K'ville races and Floracing that covers USAC I thought I had it nailed.  Wrong, it wasn't part of the fast pass, wasn't on Flo and I didn't feel like popping for another $20 when I've got a dozen other good shows not costing extra.

Watching PPM get his second Outlaw win was not a bad consolation prize.  I was a bit surprised that they were charging extra for K'ville but no complaints and not questioning their reason for charging, I just adapt and carry on without watching K'ville this week.  I'll get a peek at what the action was like on the youtube hilites and make another selection for tonight.  I've got all kinds of races includinng WoO Sprints and Lates, the Hell Tour and the All Stars but I may just opt for a Cedar Lake weekly show.  Got to show some love to the local racing even though there's no Sprints on the card tonight.

Was the racing good last night at Knoxville?  My son texted me from the stands once but his phone was going dead and he wanted to save some battery for the ride back to the motel in Newton.

It looks like Floracing is showing the non wing Feature and has it listed for 7:30.  Not sure why Dirtvision can't show the weekly 410's and black out the USAC cars but I guess it's all or nothing.  No complaints, just putting it out there if anyone is still planning their evening.

Nothing wrong with a little constructive criticism when you have the best of intentions for the event. Apparently someone in control agreed because on Saturday night they delayed the start of hot laps by 30 minutes to 7:15 in hopes of better track conditions, according to the announcer. Then, Mother Nature waved her magic wand and gave us old school fans a night to remember...as long as you didn't mind staying up till 3am. Kudos to the Knoxville Raceway promoter and staff for going the extra mile to get this one in and allowing the non-wing cars out first on an extremely fast track. I haven't seen the non-wing cars hooked up like that at Knoxville in 30 years, since CRA's last visit. The heat races alone were worth the price of admission. In those track conditions, nothing beats the non-wing cars in my opinion and we finally got to see them hooked up and haulin the mail at Knoxville. Brian Brown even stated in his interview how awesome it was to watch them, called them daredevils and said he could never do that. I actually think he could if he gave it a shot but it was cool to hear him give big props like that. Can't wait for next year, hopefully there is a next year!

It was wicked fast.  Brady was so hooked up he was having trouble keeping the front end down in the middle of the back chute toward the end of the race. No cliche, it did, it separated the men from the boys.

Sat on the back stretch.... the wheelies down out of two were insane by Bacon, Grant, and Ballou. They rarely lifted if the front end came up while others further back when immediately let the front end down and got back on the gas. Interesting to watch. I wish Bacon got held up more in traffic to give Grant or Leary a shot. Also start Ballou on the pole of that race and I wouldn't be surprised if we had a diffetent winner.

My son made the six hour trip to Knoxville and was updating me on the rain situation from the track.  It ended up getting pushed back a couple times and I gave up and went to bed.  I watched the replay, decent racing but not so good that I'd stay up all night to watch.  He was twisting my arm to tag along and split the cost but I am sitting out the whole season.

Do you remember, some years ago now, when Ballou won a race at Eldora when the track was so bad, heavy and rutted up, most tiptoed around while the Mad Man had just hammered it. It was a come hell or high water moment for sure. When asked, he gave the old standby. If you go fast enough, you just fly over the ruts.

Fast it was 10:19.560 for 30 laps. Whats the non wing record for 30 laps(non-wing).

That is awesome! I can't say I remember that one but I went to Eldora for the "Let's Race Two" weekend with my wife in 2017 which was the summer of racing for me. Wife was pregnant with our first child so I made a small bucket list of tracks to attend that summer before my daughter decided to be born in August a few days after Saturday of the Nationals (I love that girl and thank her for waiting a few days and my wife for letting me go) anyways... the first night was Ballou's first night back from his back injury. Gut slick track but he still did well I believe. Grant won the evening but I remember noticing how crazy Ballou was despite his recent injury. Then the next night was tacky as ever and he cleaned house absolutely dominating the field around the rim. In his interview after winning he said the track was almost as good as the old Eldora but still needed the banking back and a bigger cushion! I couldn't believe it, coming off back injury absolutely smacking the car off cushion running from the field and he acted like he could have been throwing the car harder. I have been a fan of him ever since that day. When it's a track that separates men from boys, Ballou will be up front every time.

I was watching on PPV, took a nap & set the timer to wake me up in a while

Did you notice how few people were left in the stands?
