It's slow here so will throw this out to those who read Sprint Car and Midget magazine and more importantly those who read each month's Dave Argabright fictional account of 1970's USAC hero Sprint Car driver Jimmy Wilson's saga. He's now turned this monthly 3 or 4 page story into a 4th book, each covering a couple years of the Jimmy Wilson magazine stories.
How would you like to see this story end? Argabright ain't gonna live forever like the rest of us and I'm sure will retire someday and will quit doing this some day in the future. Should it end with Wilson being an Indy car driver (Big Car), a famous several time winner of Indy 500, or in Nascar or some other form of racing, or will he do like Swindell, Kinsen and Haud and do this almost forever. Maybe he'd quit the USAC sprint cars and go to the WoO? Will he be married to his girlfriend Renee? Or would getting married hurt his racing career? Will his crew chief quit? Will he change teams? Will he get hurt and have to retire? How would you like to see it end? Don't think I'll be around when it ends as Dave Argabright is much younger than me, but I think about how it should end.
Actually years ago when the first few issues of the magazine that had this fictional story in the last 3 or 4 pages of the magazine, I didn't care for it and didn't read it, just didn't like it but now I have the first three books and will order the 4th, all of them are almost identical to the magazine stories.

Bumped into Dave Argabright behind the stands at this year's Chili Bowl and I asked him when is Jimmy Wilson going to get in a winged car? He replied," I think he could do it, matter of fact I know he could do it, but I don't think he will."

The Best of Times is fun to read, Argabright is really good. I wonder how long Jimmy Wilson's career will last? You know he will get more champ car rides, maybe earn another sprint car title this year. I think him and Rene will have a longer lasting relationship this time around. I think Rene will have some connections to help Jimmy land some financial help to secure another shot at Indy. Harvey of course will be grumpy about Jimmy's relationship with Rene, you know how some drivers lose their edge when a woman gets involved. I wonder if Jimmy will get to race down south again or get another chance to go to Austrailia.
If this story wasn't in Sprint and Midget I would consider dropping my subscription.

I really enjoy the Jimmy Wilson stories and they are the first thing I read in the magazine. Does anybody know when the series began?
