I know this isn't racing related so if thats bad just read another thread. Just loking for some uplifting chat among the gloom and doom.
What are you doing to stay sane, amused, entertained etc. while incarcerated in your own castle?
We live on an acreage and am self emoloyed. Work has esentially shut down but we have more time to catch up on tasks and kids are riding horses. Still enjoying the outdoor life and even more that town has shut down. No need or pull to leave the farm.
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

I work for a health & nutrition/healthcare company so I have had to work from home each day the past couple of weeks which has its challenges but could be worst. I live in Ohio and the weather around me warmed up enough this week (at least until today) to be outside. Our Governor had issued a stay at home ordinance as of Monday unless you had to go to the grocery store or were essential employee. Allowed to go outside as long as you maintain social distancing, so we have been taking advantage of the nice weather. Went on a run a few times this week through the neighborhood, my son and I have been playing baseball, basketball, hockey, going on bike rides. Cooking a lot at home, made a few home repairs so haven't needed a lot in terms of entertainment anyway. Whenever I do I typically watch some vlogs on youtube of some interests and hobbies of mine or a podcast or two while I'm working. I'm typically a quiet person anyway who doesn't like crowds except the ones at the track so some of this is actually paradise to me.
So far I am looking at it as the glass half full as I believe whatever races I would have been able to attend (2 races at Attica or Waynesfield race tomorrow) may have ended up getting rained out anyway. So even without the COVID-19 I still probably wouldn't be going to the races and we would be having the whole rain conversation all over again.

Working, sighting in some rifles, cutting down some big trees, rototilling and getting garden started. Ready to go turkey hunting. Besides that not much

Approaching the big 7 0 and my wife and I considering down sizing so been going through a lot of accumulated stuff to toss , donate, etc. Weather here in Mechanicsburg has been mild so trying to get a head start on landscaping maintenance, but not sure if I will be able to get bulk mulch delivery for a while.
Recently got hooked on watching music reaction videos on YouTube. Enjoy seeing folks react to hearing Steely Dan for the first time. Been a big fan for years.

Getting to do things around the house that I normally never have time to do. Plus there are 5 Harleys here to polish that should keep me busy for a long time.

I like watching the music reaction videos on YouTube too. Check out the reactions to Disturbed's version of The Sound of Silence, which I consider better than the original Simon and Garfunkel version.

Cleaning the basement, garage, and storage shed. Throwing away stuff collected for 46 years that have no value except taking up space.
Getting my new boat ready-----that I cannot get titled or registered because all of the offices closed the day after I got it home. Still, having a lot of fun buying accessories on Amazon and getting it ready----for 2021
I'm one of the lucky ones (so far) as I'm able to go to work and collect a paycheck---so that takes a lot of the stress part off

We have had some added stress with my nephew losing his fiance three weeks ago due to complications from heart surgery at 29 and my mother in law to cancer this past Tuesday. My wife stayed with her and cared for her to with help from hospice and was by her side when she passed. Minnesota went to a stay in place order at midnight but we still have to clear out the apartment so I may be moving some things to store in my garage. Our 50th wedding anniversary is the 30th so we will likely get some takeout.
When the dust settles I will be doing a marathon songwriting and recording session. I've got some guitars, bass, keys and a 24 track recording setup, drum machine, vocal processor and effects pedals as well. I record them and post to a website called Reverbnation under the name SK Meissner. I just posted one the other day called "Wash Your Hands". My playing style and sound are loosely modeled after ZZ Top and my vocals sound like Lemmy with laryngitis but it's a fun hobby. I've got a buddy who is better than me on lead guitar and we collaborate on some songs by sharing the files in Google drive and each adding our parts and I do solo projects as well.
Actually I love making music so much that at this point in my life it's my go to hobby. I spent seventeen years chasing races while writing for a paper and doing photography. That was so intense being involved in the sport and now that I'm not doing that sitting in the stands watching isn't much fun. I wonder if any other former photographers/writers feel that way about spectating? For me it was a big letdown do go from interviewing and rubbing shoulders with the stars of the sport to sitting in the grandstand by myself. I'd rather watch on PPV as it's hard to sit there knowing I used to be in the middle of the excitement.

Much better than the original IMO ( not a big fan of Simon & Garfunkel). Vocalist has a great voice. Thanx for the tip.

I found over 500 entries for his name which can't be. I then typed in the name of the song and found it on the second page of search. Hope that helps.
