Super pumped to watch some winged 410 action over the next 5 nights.

During the practice laps last night Eliason and Hafertepe stood out. Would love to get excited for someone new stepping forward to challenge the old guard. Won't be surprised to see Schatz, Sweet, Larson, and Reutzal among the leaders after this is done. Pittman has been consistently good at Volusia.

  • Expectations anyone?
  • Who will be the emerging star to surprise this season?
  • What's the future of the sport we love to watch? Are there more Roth/Rudeen families out there that want to sink their money into this hobby?
  • Will Schuhart continue to move forward?
  • Is Gravel going to step back focusing on other things?
  • Will Sheldon take the step forward that we thought he was two seasons ago?
  • Is there another All-Star other than Reutzal that's ready to be a full time Outlaw?
  • Is Macedo ready to be top 5 in points?
  • How long can Sides and Kinser consistently keep up their mediocre finishes?  I appreciate what those two do and offer, but it has to hurt the ego too much at some point.

So many questions...

  • It will be another great points battle with Schatz and Sweet. I think Logan can move up to challenge but won't keep pace late in the season. I think it will look alot like last year.
  • I think Zearfoss will run better this year with some consistency.
  • I hope there are more Roth/Rudeen folks. We need them.
  • Gravel won't move backwards, I think the limited number of pavement starts will no make a difference.
  • Sheldon should make a jump this year. I think we forget he has not raced that long.
  • I don't think any other All Stars are ready for the Outlaw trail, but that could change by mid-season.
  • Macedo is not ready for teh top-5 but may land there with that team.
  • Sides and Kinser will keep going. They make money and this is what they know how to do. If they both get some money influx they will most definitly be more consistent with speed.

  • Expect another great season across all sanctioning bodies and big events. Outlaws will probably have a good points battle again, maybe not as good as this past season but a good one.
  • Rising star could be Skylar Gee. He won in Central PA with the All Stars and won another race at Waynesfield late last year against a good field of cars. Zearfross continues to improve each year
  • I think you will continue to see teams come and go as they have for the past few decades. Take Shaffer's & Kemenah's old rides for example, looked like someone making an investment but ended up folding because a variety of reasons. Health, Personal Business, Stress, Finance. Doesn't mean that they no longer love the sport, just sometimes you have to make adjustments. Motter would be another one
  • I think Schuchart either runs the same as this past year which is great or possibly a little better.
  • I think Gravel's decisions will be year by year based on performance in each area.
  • Sheldon is a Wildcard (no pun intended). Had points last year where it looked like he was back to his 2018 start. Still young and still have a good future.
  • Don't feel there is another All Star team ready to move up to Outlaws other than maybe Reutzel. Will be interested to see what Hafertepe does though.
  • I think Macedo could be ready to make a Top 5 run. Again, still young with a lot of potential just got to give him some time
  • Sides & Kinser can keep their performance as long as the sponsors continue to pay for it. Both seem to have had the same sponsors for a long time so apparently they are satisfied. Both seem to have a positive attitude whenever they are in the pits too.

Should be some great racing action across several sancioning bodies with some drivers stepping up, really looking forward to seeing Jacob Allen make more strides this year towards getting that first win

I think Zearfoss could possibly step up and contend for the all star title this season against Reutzel. Zearfoss's team had raced on alot of unfamiliar tracks last season and still managed to do half decent, hoping he uses knowledge gained last  year to really make a run for the title

There will be Roth/Rudeen families that come and go from the sport, we sure need them ! I am just greatful that Weikerts have been involved so long supporting several cars

Id really like to see Schuhart make a run for the outlaw title but i dont think hes quite there yet, i expect a top 5 points finish though

I think depending how Gravel makes out this season in a truck he will decide wether or not he is going to continue to pursue asphalt racing or not, its to soon to tell now

Sheldon has so much talent and is very capable of winning more then he does but i see him make too many costly mistakes, i think if he calmed down in the car a little bit he would have more success, but man is he fun to watch!

I'm not sure if there is another all star ready to become an outlaw, possibly zearfoss in a couple seasons.

If macedo can find some consistency he could make a top 5 points run, i just dont think hes quite there yet, i will be looking for some improvments thisseason from him

It has to be very tough not being able to be competive much at all for Sides and Kinser, but i agree i appreciate seeing them out there still and i think until money runs out they will continue

i'm saying Schuhart will be in the top 3 for points this year, and sheldon will be top 5.

im not sure it hurts Sides or Kinsers ego, i think they're just out there having fun, trying not to wreck equipment

I'm wondering, if we only speculate about who moves forward, and no one picks Pittman, does it makes sense that he's the logical pick to fade back into the pack? That would seriously bum me out. He's an easy guy to root for. Speaks volumes to me that his wife and kids travel all the time with him.

No one has mentioned it yet.  But Brock Zearfoss is running a different chassis this year.  He is using X -1 RACE CARS built by

Ryan Linder.   It could really pay off using something unique or struggle because he is on an island by himself.

Also I wonder if one of his main sponsors Miller's Heavy Duty Equipment is still a J&J Chassis dealer?

Strange to sponsor a car running a different chassis brand.

The shot of Sweet at the checkers at the checkers on the front page - bleachers are empty, not just not full but EMPTY!

What's up with that?

Last night looked to be an expensive night for Sides Motorsports.  Two cars bent in about the same place on the track.  Jason's was the worst of the two, that was a hard hit.

The All stars don't draw like the WoO. Plus that empty grandstand, is that the new grandstand they were building? Is it open to sit in yet?
