All Fast Pass subscribers should be aware that the service is year-round now and you will be billed through winter months for Australian races.

This has changed from 2018 when any remaining time on a Fast Pass was effectively frozen and pushed to 2019, restarting at Volusia.

DV provides a great service but it's a shame how they have handled this - as far as I can tell, no indication was given to customers that this would change would be implemented.

Posting here for visibility so people aren't paying for races that run overnight in the states. I'm sure some will be fine with it - many will not. I have little interest in watching a same-day replay on-demand.

Nevermind - I stand corrected. They apparently did inform customers of this change, relaying the info at the bottom of an email titled "Perth Motorplex LIVE on DIRTVision.com!" sent in late October.

Hard for me to believe this wasn't intentionally buried for people to miss it.

The shows are a blast to watch and you don't have to watch them live at 4 in the morning.  Around Christmas there will be a whole bunch of races (7 or 8) with many of the US guys racing in them.  Personally I am happy just to see some of the tracks I visited a couple of winters back in the mid 90's.  On top of that you can never go wrong listening to mate Wade Aunger, a real blast at all times!!

I don't have any problem with people watching them either live or On Demand but I have no interest in doing so. This should have been an opt-in thing by DV, not automatic for all customers.

I think I am just going to keep it and try out watching some of the shows as a good change of pace. Have watched a few highlight videos and the races seem great as well as the facilities.

Thanks for the reminder... no interest in Aussie races, especially during basketball season

Thanks for the heads up!  I missed this as well and had already assumed I was not paying again until Feb.  I will take care of it.

It's just a shame that I let it renew last Thursday for World Finals and now basically have to waste three weeks of a subscription since they won't let you postpone it for WoO. If I had known this beforehand, I may not have let it renew for World Finals. I was under the impression it would work the same way as last year, which seems like a reasonable expectation, but apparently not to Dirtvision.

I think you can still watch older races, if that interests you...

Not really, and that's not worth $39.

I watch old races from the archive and have never had a subscription.  I would expect that is the same for people who have or have had subscriptions.

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

I'm considering myself lucky as I was considering getting a month of Dirtvision starting with the World Finals until I saw that remaining races were in Australia in the wee hours of the morning when I'd still be in bed or maybe just getting up while the Features are lining up.  I was interested in the Austrailian races as Brooke Tatnell's USA home is in Forest Lake, Minnesota, where I live so I was thinking of following his progress.  Looking closer at this series I honestly didn't know if he would be running in any of these races or if chasing the title will include these tracks.  I have no specific interest in following anyone else down there so I decided not to get PPV for the World Finals along with these other races which I know very little about.

Another thing about the Aussie races I am wondering is if they'll put them in the vault after a week or so?  If they are then I have no problem waiting until they're in the free vault seeing as I wouldn't have gotten up at 2am to watch them live.  My reasoning is that I can follow text results, social media posts and YouTube highlights and see everything I'll need to see.  If they eventually put them in the free vault section I might watch all or some of these races but the logistics of sitting up all night to watch them doesn't appeal to me at all.

Older races in the vault are free or at least most of them are but they may not put these Austrailian races in the vault very soon after they're run in view of the circumstances.  All they have to offer after the World Finals are middle of the night stuff so most people are probably going to watch the replays.  I could see them not putting these in the vault and charging to view them for a couple of months until things get back underway here in the States.  Otherwise pretty much everyone would just watch the free rebroadcast.

While the series down there sounds like a fun deal this middle of the night broadcast thing nixes viewing parties which is a big part of PPV.  Nobody buys beers and steaks and invites their friends over for reruns.  Personally my view is that though it's more racing content it's not a good fit for most PPV fans due to the time difference.  Like I said, no opportunities for viewing parties, no explanation how these races fit into the big picture down there (I don't think these are WSS and not sure if there is any connection to their title).

Anyways I'm sure some will disagree and that is fine if they want to sit up all night watching races.

Yea, right.  See ya next year.

With what I am reading, you would think it was the end of the world.  Take 10-20 seconds and cancel if you don't want to see the stuff from down under.  Then take another 10-20 seconds to sign up again in February.  It's not that big of a deal.  It's not like the sky is falling.

I'm in the same boat. The $39 isn't a huge deal but it just pisses me off in that this feels to me like it was planned to generate more revenue.

I'm not a lawyer or anything but I'm guessing if someone were to pursue this in a legal manner, they'd be able to at least make an argument.

When I signed up, this was the exact verbiage in the email I got:

Thank you for purchasing the DIRTVision Sprint Car Fast Pass. Your monthly subscription gives you access to every World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series DIRTVision broadcast, excluding Knoxville Nationals, Kings Royal, and World Finals.

Your credit card on file will be automatically billed $39 every 4 weeks (or 28 days). Billing will NOT occur during the off-season. Any remaining days in your current subscription after our last Sprint Car Fast Pass broadcast will carry over into the 2020 DIRTcar Nationals and the 2020 season.

This is not what happened, at all. This is just an absolute trash move by Dirtvision.

We shouldn't have to cancel. I want the terms of the plan I signed up for to be followed - this isn't that hard.

This is like signing up for a monthly subscription of MLB.tv and instead of ending the service when the season ends, adding coverage of the Dominican Winter League and continuing the billing. Oh, and sending an email at some point that buries the information in an email that has nothing to do with it.

Additionally, from the current terms and conditions on their website:

We automatically bill your Payment Method every 28 days (a “Monthly Period&rdquowink. If you change your Payment Method, this could result in changing the billing cycle. You acknowledge that you will be billed $39 for each 28-day billing cycle and you authorize us to charge your Payment Method for the corresponding amount. If DIRTVision changes the subscription fee or other charges for your subscription, we will give you advance notice of these changes by email.

DIRTVision will suspend billing prior to World Finals, until the start of the following season. Any unused days of your 28-day cycle will be credited when billing resumes when the following season begins.
