If I had a piece of property in Knoxville could I camp on it for 10 days of nationals?

I would think so. There's campers in yards all over town. Our group has actually considered that from time to time. But getting a spot for $250 has always seemed a lot cheaper and easier than buying and maintaining something. As soon as we don't get in the county park, which has been a crap shoot the last few years, we'll probably wish we had.

Yes...We usually have 1 or 2 tents in our yard and the neighbor has about 10 campers....I've never heard or been told any reason why you couldn't.

Actually, you can camp there for 14 days according to the current regulations.

I actually contacted a realtor about this a few months back. He said yes, if I purchased land I could camp on it for the Nationals. I haven't done it yet, but it's always in the back of my mind to do so.

Sounds like a big investment just to get a camping spot, although if you did it, you could probably charge others to camp there

Maybe to make it affordable find a lot that is for sale and ask the owner if you can lease it while he retains the right to sell it at any time. Make your lease payment due the Sunday after the nationals so you only pay if you park there and he can collect before you disappear home for 355 days.
All it is, is money in his pockets and doesnt change his life at all.
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

The plan is to relocate there eventually, camp for nationals until we relocate and build at retirement

Would it be legal to leave an rv/camper parked on your vacant lot? Not to live in but to store there.

It might be worth a call to Knoxville city hall at 641-828-0550 to get answers to your questions.
